they were happy until the day i brought the kid home from the hospital. They have each let me know in their own way that i have ruined their lives.

Wanders ...just relax for a second. Look...the worst he can do is take a shot at you, and at your *snooort* height *snicker* the chances are excellent that the bullet would go right over your head [:)]

All three are happy now in their own way and the common denominator is enjoying the simple pleasures in life.  Kitty #1 is on the window ledge (behind the vertical blinds I had installed especially for her) enjoying the sunshine.  Kitty #2 is lying on the carpet enjoying a spot in the sun.  Kitty #3 (the outdoor kitty) is over on my neighbor's patio relaxing on a small area rug.  He likes spending time over there execpt for the two days a week her granddaughters are there, who won't give him a moment's peace, LOL.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Why are cats so happy? (9/19/2009 9:28:41 AM)

Cats are happy because the staff( people) cater to them.  You'd be happy to, eh?

LaTigresse -> RE: Why are cats so happy? (9/19/2009 9:52:03 AM)

Let's see, Quigley is happy in SPITE of the fact that the little redheaded canine keeps pouncing him..........because he spent all night outside guarding the grounds, then came in and filled his belly, got a rub and is now, stretched out, sound asleep and snoring, on MY pillow.

The dogs are happy because, the little canine redhead just got her blanket back to burrow in, after it got a trip through the washer and dryer (she loves a clean fresh blankie). The bigger girl is stretched out on the loveseat napping after a romp through the yard and orchard, chasing chipmunks and having the bulk of the treat her little red companion begged for when we came in.

The two horses are happy because they are out in the big pasture grazing and have no idea what I have planned for them after I get my butt back up off this sofa.

Animals are happy when they are physically comfortable because they live in the moment. That's the key, finding the joy in the moment.

That's because they've trained their owners so well, that technically they don't need to do anything else but looking cute n get cuddled. Unfortunately that doesn't really work in the human world.[8|]
