Also what is wrong with progressives like Theodore Roosevelt?

kittinSol -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 7:27:11 AM)

When I want to cheer people up, I switch on Glenn Beck :-) .

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 7:42:14 AM)

Alright Kittin, explain yourself!    How does Beck cheer anyone up?  He's so dark in an un-fun way.    M

kittinSol -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 7:44:53 AM)

Yes, Ma'am :-) .He makes the children laugh: you know how his face goes all red, and he throws his arms up in the air, and how he is so theatrical and clownish and apt at expressing despair? The kids love laughing at him :-) .

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 7:55:35 AM)

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]  Okay, that is funny.   Now you're going to make me start watching him more often.

Incidentally, as a response to the OP, no one was more surprised than I, to hear Beck say that McCain would have been a worse president...   I wonder if he's trying to get the sponsors back and save his heinie.    M

kittinSol -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 8:11:44 AM)

The far right has hated McCain for times immemorial - I'm not surprised Beck is doing this.

Louve00 -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 8:18:45 AM)

I think.....democrats have their blue dogs.  And republicans have their Becks (and boy...lately there are alot of "Beck's" out there)

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 8:29:41 AM)

Unlike Rush Limbaugh who is as partisan as Obama is by voting 96% of the time with the democrats, Glenn Beck is bi partisan and goes after both parties. Even the lamestream media said that. Both parties are responsible for the mortgage crisis by requiring lenders to loan money to poor people, both parties are responsible for $10 trillion national debt, and both parties are responsible for the flagrant disregard of our Constitution, and Immigration policies that have almost destroyed our sovereignty. It's so bad now that the Illegals and open borders nuts are very close to controlling our immigration policies. That basically means they are attempting to legalize "illegal immigration" forever. That means that half the planet will export their unemployment problems here. If you think our government is corrupt now, just wait till Latin America takes over.

You can be as liberal as you want in your social life, but the fact is that true conservative government is the only government that will work in the long run. Look back at the 1950's. We had no significant national debt, no healthcare crisis, no disregard and abuse of the Constitution, and no selling out of America for free trade, and Immigration. One man working was able to provide for his family. Now, it is becoming difficult for 2 people working to pay the bills, and senior citizens are sometimes forced to reverse mortgage their home in order to pay the bills even though their home is already paid for. What's next, are we going to have the kids working in order to make the mortgage payment?

You are an absolute nut if you keep voting for big spending, liberal, socialist politicians. There's no way this country can survive when half the people are on social security, and the other half are on some kind of government assistance.

kittinSol -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/22/2009 8:41:30 AM)

You forget women's suffrage. That's a huge part of the reason why this country is going to the dogs. Well, that, and the pesky little matter of unbridled capit... never mind [sm=biggrin.gif] .

Ahhh...the fabulouse fifties. Back when freedom was protected by the McCarthy hearings. Back when racial segregation wasn't just a bad idea. It was the law. Back when it was good that one man working alone could support his family because being a teacher, nurse or secretary were about the only jobs women could get. Back when the cold war had us all building bomb shelters for the day the big one dropped. Yes, those were the good old days. Just look at how happy Richie, Postie and the Fonze were. Those were such happy days.

Beck has not been Republican for some time.

housesub4you -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/23/2009 9:20:57 AM)

Yes because it worked so well with our last president, why they did not spend any money, borrow any money or create a bigger government.

You got it babe. Most of these talking heads are much more funny than they are to be taken seriously.

You DO realize that a major part of the reason for the postwar boom (which lasted into the 1960s but I suppose you left that out because the 1960s Presidents were all Dems except for a two year mess of Tricky Dick) was that none of the overseas countries could compete with the US then.

I will concede that LBJ was responsible for many of the social programs we now have, but I categorically reject your contentions that the Dems are wild-eyed, free spending socialists and that the GOP is a bunch of spending conservatives.  Bush has elevated deficit spending to a whole new level. And he created the concept of bailouts, in which Joe and Jane Six Pack help pay the paychecks of seven figure suits who would otherwise be unemployed due to their own incompetence and lack of ethics.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/25/2009 7:43:32 AM)

Has anyone else noticed that Glen Beck looks like a televangelist?

Moonhead -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/25/2009 9:19:36 AM)

I don't think anybody likes McCain at this point, and to be honest, I'm not terribly surprised. His ideological flip flop for last year's election campaign was pretty much guaranteed to make anybody who took him seriously when he was standing in the primaries against Bush in 2000 run away screaming in horror, wasn't it?

Sanity -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/25/2009 2:23:46 PM)

Al Gore
looks like a televangelist. The ultimate preacher of gloom and doom, the end is near, and repent now.

He's also an abominable actor - which is part of his clownish charm ;-) .
