Al Gore
looks like a televangelist. The ultimate preacher of gloom and doom, the end is near, and repent now.

Has anyone else noticed that Glen Beck looks like a televangelist?

I think you described the sense of hearing rather than the sense of sight.

So Al Gore must SOUND like a televangelist then.

You are an absolute nut if you keep voting for big spending, liberal, socialist politicians. There's no way this country can survive when half the people are on social security, and the other half are on some kind of government assistance.

so which half are you?

LOL!!! Nice one tazzy.

Once again, the right wing misses the point. Nobody is for big spending politicians. The republican party, however, seems to think it a greater sin to spend big and let some of it get to those who need it, instead of spending big and giving to the richest 5% in the country.

this doesn't bear you out, it rather says that the opposite is true

so, where is the disconnect, the mad-dog belief in whose rhetoric is more touchy feely?

Looks and sounds, he is the very essence of. From his raised pointing finger down to the rivlet of sweat running down the side of his face... Al Gore is the "end is near" preacher man.

Al Gore is even making a fortune off of his ministry, just like all the other TV preachers do.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/26/2009 7:58:41 AM)

And, just to remind people of recent history, the GOP were the ones who quadrupled the national debt, while also cutting out trillions of dollars in tax revenue, by slashing taxes for the top 2% wealthiest Americans. Then of course, in order to foster an "ownership society" Bush deregulated the banking and real estate industries. This was the toxic cocktail that so many in the financial realm got "drunk"* on, and led us to the near collapse that we lived through last year.

The Republicans complain about Obama and the bailout, but THEY ARE THE REASON we had to go for that bailout in the first place. Otherwise most of us would be standing in a bread line right now. Probably next to someone who worked for GM, or one of it's thousands of supplier companies. All equally unable to cash a paycheck, even if we were lucky enough to have a job, because the banks would have frozen all commercial and private credit.

*"Wall Street got drunk." -Bush (actual quote)

tazzygirl -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/26/2009 8:16:30 AM)

Dont those taxes revert in... umm... 2010 or 2012?

MarsBonfire -> RE: Beck must really dislike McCain (9/27/2009 6:29:29 AM)

The tax cuts do revert... but of course the GOP is working hard to try and preserve them, even as the nation teeters on the edge of a financial cliff.
