Status: offline 		3k for travel? maybe although teh whole living on the subay thing clashes with showing up dressed in an outlandish pimp costume. 10k+ is more likely. They also needed those fancy color concealed cameras. Go out and price those. Especially ones with the ability to record as long as these did. They're not cheap. Somebody fronted O'Keefe a lot of money.

Lehman Bros?  The domestic auto companies?   Let's face it, once a group/business gets too big for its own britches... and screws up, regardless how major or minor, it becomes news and they get lots of airtime/media time. As stated before, no one held the Acorn employess in duress. They spoke freely and what apears in the videos as eagerly.

Yes they did, but what you said illustrates my point.

Did these organizations screw up or people within the organizations?

In the examples you cited it was management in every case.

Yet, there has been absolutely no evidence of ACORN management condoning or promoting any of their employees actions that have come under scrutiny.

They are desperate.

The entire "pimp and whore" thing is only what got the national attention. The more important story is their voter registration fraud, and funneling money to left, and Democratic candidates.

Status: offline 		I find myself wondering....what difference does it make if they got financial backing or where it came from...other than the fact that they have claimed they didn't. I mean if they did get fronted a pile of cash it doesn't really change what they caught on camera. Personally I think they are stupid for claiming they were never chucked out of some offices or to deny whatever backing they had....in the end they are just harming their credibility I suspect they are caught up in their new-found fame and want to create the image of daring dedicated guerrilla journalism. Be that as it may, none of that changes what they managed to get on video.

Inside the Mission to Take Down ACORN

ACORN was laid low by a stunt with a $1,300 budget,  O'Keefe said. He and Giles rolled up and down Interstate 95 munching on Subway and Quiznos sandwiches between visits to the organization's branch offices.

Not sure why you would think Subway and Quiznos sandwiches would clash with trashy clothing.  Aside from the fact that there's no reason to believe Giles and O'Keefe patronized restaurants while dressed in costume... and aside from the fact that both Subway and Quiznos have drive-up windows that would allow them to purchase food without their clothing being a public spectacle, have you ever taken a look at what people wear to fast food places these days?  Sheesh... in some places, the outlandish costumes would have blended right in.

You are really reaching for a way to make this all be some vast right-wing conspiracy...

First of all, we don't know what kind of camera he used or where it was hidden.  O'Keefe has only said it was, "in a location I'd rather not disclose."

It needn't have necessarily been an expensive miniature camera.  Walmart carries a pocket-sized, ultra high-def camcorder that records up to 2 hours for less than $200.  However, for what it is worth, a mini wireless spy camera and receiver can be bought for just $60.

Yeah... somebody definitely had to front O'Keefe a lot of money.
