ORIGINAL: Moonhead I'm not sure how much blood you'd get using a diabetic lancet: it's designed to prick your finger so that you can test your blood sugars. As well as the lancets, you might want to get one of the devices that holds them as well, unless you'd prefer to prick your victim by hand instead of using a sort of springloaded thing to draw blood. Does the diabetic lancet function differently than a spring-loader? Wouldn't any device that punctures with a small quick motion create a wound that would naturally bleed out once used? The point of using the loader is that it has a guage which lets you adjust the depth of the stick depending on the comfort of your donor. If you do the stick by hand, it's harder to estimate. Yes, the wound is small and shallow, thus netting less blood. However, if you and your donor are a sadist/masochist combo, multiple sticks don't matter as much. You can also draw blood by taking the lancet out of the loader and dragging it across your donor's skin. It creates a shallow cut from which you can get more blood, but I don't recommend this method since it's more likely to scar.
