"You can't take life too seriously, you'll never make it out alive."

Yes, there is danger to this. That is why having trust is so important. Life and death important.
The same can be said of sex. If all parties aren't truthful and safe in practice, bad things can happen.
Be safe, and only give your trust to those worthy of it.
Hope this can help- fae

I've been known to be one of those diabetic lancet Vampires. Seeing somebody else post about diabetic lancets put a wicked smile on my face.

Check a medical supply store for a sharps disposable container.  Many accidental infection when needles are not properly disposed of after use.

A bleach bottle can work pretty well: bung the used needles or blades in there and tape it shut when it's full.

I'm not sure how much blood you'd get using a diabetic lancet: it's designed to prick your finger so that you can test your blood sugars. As well as the lancets, you might want to get one of the devices that holds them as well, unless you'd prefer to prick your victim by hand instead of using a sort of springloaded thing to draw blood.

Does the diabetic lancet function differently than a spring-loader? Wouldn't any device that punctures with a small quick motion create a wound that would naturally bleed out once used?

The point of using the loader is that it has a guage which lets you adjust the depth of the stick depending on the comfort of your donor.  If you do the stick by hand, it's harder to estimate.  Yes, the wound is small and shallow, thus netting less blood.  However, if you and your donor are a sadist/masochist combo, multiple sticks don't matter as much.  You can also draw blood by taking the lancet out of the loader and dragging it across your donor's skin.  It creates a shallow cut from which you can get more blood, but I don't recommend this method since it's more likely to scar.

Fox and I have done blood drinking before, usually from scratches and cuts he gets during sharps play (we have a vampire glove). I also use an exacto knife that has been sanitized when I want a more controlled and flowing cut to drink from. Fox and I are strictly exclusive for our drinking, so we dont worry too much about testing constantly. For disposal, I go for the soda bottle and lots of tape route, since its exacto blades, not needles. I also make sure to sanitize the use blades before they get tossed and I lable the bottle SHARPS just in case.

I find myself increasingly interested in blood, though cutting is not something that I've tried for erotic purposes or otherwise.  The utilization of a knife would be my preference.  I am at least as interested in cutting another as I am in being cut; sharing of blood strikes me as quite powerful.
I did have my wrist cut with a butcher knife when I was younger and have a bitch of a scar from an idiot ER doc who put 8 stitches where there should have been 30-40.  I don't think I'd make the association of being cut for erotic purposes in comparison to that anymore than I would getting whacked in an uncool fashion and having physical impact play for erotic purposes.
Yeah, blades: that would be my definite preference.

Get in touch with your local hospital or medical center to find out if there are any specific laws for sharps disposal in your area. Many offer free services with no questions asked (supposedly). You don't want to get a visit from some irate garbage man because a jury rigged sharps container came open. If someone else gets stuck it could be real bad legally no matter how safe you are or how often you get tested.
