So why do so many people list things on there hard limits list that has nothing whatsoever to do with BDSM?

Maybe because they can?  I used to have things like rap music hardlimited because I'd rather be branded than listen to that and, as of this writing, branding still scares the scheiss outta me.  Now I no longer have dislikes and hard limit items listed on my profile because I'm trying to keep it on a more positive note.

My hard limits include things like rap music, liver or brains and such as food, scat, non-human sex, fireplay, sex w/ minors, political or religious fanatics of any type, etc.  Yeah, stuff like that.  I figure if anyone really needs to know, I will tell them & since no one but my Sir is with me in that way, no one else really needs to know.

Perhaps because what is one person's irrelevancy is another's kink or fetish?

Nooooooo your not understanding me!

Actually, I think he understands you perfectly. I state that bestiality and children are a hard limit for me, because there ARE people out there into it. There are things that are illegal that we state as hard limit becasue just their illegality alone does not make them untouchable. Hell, ALL of BDSM is illegal, one cannot legally consent to battery and the like. So, why should one illegal act be worse than another. One persons limit is another's kink, illegal or not I want to make completely sure no one approaches me considering them. So, they are stated.

refrence: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_consent

I am not sure where you get your statistics from but you are wrong about some middle eastern countries.
Middle eastern countries often engage a child at a very young age to a promised one but the child will not join her set partner until she has reached a pubescent age and then she will be married. Having a sexual non married partner is often punishable by death. Marriage is the only way round early legal consent for most of these countries.

there is no actual law according to the refrence linked but there is laws for being married so it counter acts the actual laws of concent if you have to be married (as i did mention) then evne if there is no age of concent there is still a legal age for marriage which has to be followed.
refrence is as listed if it's wrong talk to wiki :)  and i did mention i believe that mariage is required for some.  but not all and not in canada or the usa where 16 is legal in those particaluar area's if one considers 16 a child which of course many do.
