10 Points that prove the democrats live in a fantasy world.

1) You can't spend your way to prosperity when you are already in debt. That's common sense. Even the Congressional Budget Office said that their stimulus program would have a negative long term impact. What they are doing is attempting to create the illusion that all is well, but in reality they are getting you in deeper and deeper.

2) If you vote for a candidate who supports abortion, then you are just as guilty as the Dr. who performs them. This idea that democrats don't support abortion, but they support the right of the woman to choose for herself is not fooling anyone.  Especially the 100's of thousands if not millions of aborted children waiting on the other side for you to explain your support of abortion. If you don't have the guts to rip a baby out of it's womb and throw it in the trash can yourself, then you shouldn't be a hipocrite and support abortion.

3) You can't make a problem go away by legalizing it. The democrats would love to legalize Illegal Immigration, Marijuana, and gay marriage so they can pretend like there is no longer a problem. The reality is that it only makes the problem worse. The democrats method of operation has always been to hand out taxpayer money in order to buy votes, and cater to special interest groups. To hell with what the vast majority want. In fact, the democrats are like a high school slut, they can't say no to anyone, except the vast majority of course who do have a good understanding of the Constitution, capitalism, and good moral values.

4) Another amnesty for Illegal aliens won't work. The first massive one in 1986 resulted in 10 to 15 million more Illegal aliens. Another one would be even more disastrous. 10 years from now they will want another amnesty, and they will use the same argument that they are using now. Which is that they aren't going anywhere, and we have no choice but to put them on a path to citizenship. It will never end unless we end it now. By the way, more Americans have been killed by Illegal aliens, than in the entire Iraq war. The democrats don't want you to know that. If you think our government is corrupt now, just wait until Latin America takes over.

5) Legalizing Marijuana may sound like a good idea unless you have actually known someone who is a pothead. Do you really want to be working with people who come into work high or get high while on their breaks, and you end up doing most of the work for them or have your life endangered by their carelessness? Do you really think it's right for children to have to live in an environment where they are exposed to a 2nd hand smoke, mind altering drug during their most important mental development of their lives?

Would you want to buy a house where people have smoked pot in it for years? Banks would be foreclosing on homes that they would have to completely gut before they sold them. Not only that, what if you are a landlord who owns rental property? How would you like having to rip out the carpet, walls, and ceilings when someone moved out? They have already proven that the IQ of each succeeding generation who lives in a polluted city is getting lower each year. Can you imagine what legalizing Marijuana would do?

The democrats argument that marijuana use is so widespread anyway, and it is no more harmful than cigarettes and alcohol is not true. The real reason they want to legalize it is so they can collect taxes on it, and spend even more money on socialist freebies in order to buy votes. Once again, the democrats put collecting taxes above the health, welfare, and prosperity of future generations.

By the way, although alcohol is mind altering, it does not directly alter the mind of people who live in the same household. Additionally, most drunk drivers do not come out until late at night when coming home from the bar. Pot smokers are high all day long and late at night.

6) Legalizing gay marriage sounds harmless enough, until you look a little deeper. Democrats claim to be Christians, but the bible clearly disapproves of homosexuality and clearly defines marriage as a sacred ceremony between a man and a woman. Yes, the bible teaches compassion for sinners which we all are, but to directly defy the bible on such a massive scale as an entire nation could very well invite the destruction of our nation. There are also other issues such as the adoption of infants and power of attorney in the case of permanent vegetation.

Infants are not able to decide for themselves if they want to be raised in that kind of environment. Do we really want to raise an entire nation of wimps where their gay parents don't even approve of dodge ball?

As far as power of attorney goes, I'm not sure that even heterosexual spouses should have the final say on whether to pull the plug or not. Can you imagine the parents who do not approve of that lifestyle in the first place, and now they have someone else from a marriage on paper deciding to pull the plug so they can go ahead and receive the insurance money?

7) Although some republicans still believe Global Warming is a hoax, I for one do not. The glaciers are retreating at a rapid pace worldwide, and you can now sail through the northern passage in the summer time. You can't go by surface temperatures that vary from year to year. You have to go by the long term indicators. If you have ever smelled a diesel pickup go by while out walking, still smelled it a half a block down the road, then multiply that by a few hundred million vehicles, and consider that the usable atmosphere is only about 15 miles high, that should convince you that we are altering the atmosphere.

In fact, if it weren't for global dimming caused by pollution the problem would be far worse. Where the democrats mess up on this issue is their idea of a carbon tax. This is insane. A carbon tax will just be passed onto consumers. In effect this is just another backdoor tax democrats are attempting to force on the American people. What they should be doing is providing a tax cut for corporations who reduce their carbon output, and make it mandatory over a 10 year period.

8) Democrats are always trying to block lawsuit or tort reform. They believe multi million dollar settlements from spilling coffee on your lap are a good way to keep corporate America in line. In reality, these outrageous settlements are simply passed on to the consumer. We all pay for these outrageous settlements. Do you realize that a small airplane would not cost any more than a car, if it weren't for lawsuits? Lawsuits that deny personal responsibility only hurt America and our economy.

If the government approves a product to be sold in America, then the government should be responsible for lawsuits, not corporations. The government has been negligent not the corporations. However, even those lawsuits should be limited since it would cost taxpayers more money.

9) Ever since the 1970's, Jimmy Carter and the democrats have been harping on our need to be energy independent. However, they won't allow us to build nuclear plants or drill for oil in virgin territory. Their focus is only on solar, and windpower. Well I've got news for you, the sun doesn't always shine, and the wind doesn't always blow, so even if you had a solar panel on every roof and a windcharger behind every home, you would still have to have enough power available for peak demands when there is no wind or solar. On top of that windchargers are unsightly, and the small ones make a lot of noise that the neighbors don't want to have to listen to.

We could have already been energy independent if it were not for Immigration. There's no possible way we will ever become energy independent unless we begin right now to minimize our population growth.

In fact, if they had never passed the 1965 Immigration act, which vastly increased Immigration, and allowed Illegal Immigration for the past 40 years, you would be looking at the most prosperous nation in the world. Instead we are a debtor nation, and we are looking at the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world over the next several decades.

Most people would agree that the key to our long term prosperity is energy independence, yet the democrats are attempting to increase both Illegal, and Legal Immigration every time we turn around. They just won't face reality.

10) If this were the David Letterman Top 10, this would be number one to top it all off. Unfortunately, there's nothing laughable about this list. The all time proof that the democrats are living in fantasy land came from Nancy Pelosi at the Democratic convention, when she announced that the democrats were the party the founders had envisioned. I thought for sure lightning was going to hit the stage. I was looking into her eyes, and not only was I in disbelief, I could have sworn that I saw disbelief in her own eyes as well.

This had to be the most ridiculous statement in history. The founders would have never approved of reverse discriminating against English speaking Christians, taxation without representation of the majority, allowing abortion and gay marriage, and they would never trash the constitution on issues of free speech (1st amend), gun rights (2nd amend), and state's rights (10th amend).

Remember, the soaring national debt, and the soaring yearly deficits began during the 1960's when Kennedy and LBJ got us into Vietnam, and they launched the great society to satisfy the liberals. That's where it all started. As Charles Barkley said, "poor people have been voting democratic for 50 years, and they are still poor."

The only way to eliminate poverty is to get off your ass and go to work everyday if you are healthy enough to. Then if you listen to the republican message, government won't take every dime you make to give to someone who refuses to live within their means.

Case Closed.

Cue the "beam me up" emoticon.

The fact that you let political differences blind your sight as to why it was wrong for Britain to ban Savage is impulsive and simple minded. You should be angry that he got band. The man is a fellow American for god sakes. He was put on a list with murderers, rapists, and terrorists. Do you really think that he is equivalent to those people?

SpinnerofTales -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/29/2009 7:43:16 PM)

I have to take a moment on this one.....if nothing else but to shovel a path through reality. Let's see what Cuckoldmepls has as his "proof'

quote:

10 Points that prove the democrats live in a fantasy world.

1) You can't spend your way to prosperity when you are already in debt. That's common sense. Even the Congressional Budget Office said that their stimulus program would have a negative long term impact. What they are doing is attempting to create the illusion that all is well, but in reality they are getting you in deeper and deeper.

What they are doing is pure Keynesian economics. Just like every major industrialized country in the world, the US Government realized that without an infusion of capital into the economy, we were heading into the toilet but quick. The fantasy is the idea that doing nothing and spending nothing would have resulted in anything but a total economic meltdown.

quote:

2) If you vote for a candidate who supports abortion, then you are just as guilty as the Dr. who performs them. This idea that democrats don't support abortion, but they support the right of the woman to choose for herself is not fooling anyone. Especially the 100's of thousands if not millions of aborted children waiting on the other side for you to explain your support of abortion. If you don't have the guts to rip a baby out of it's womb and throw it in the trash can yourself, then you shouldn't be a hipocrite and support abortion.

I do not think that a woman having the right to choose whether she brings a fetus to term or not in her own body is anything to be guilty about. The fantasy is fighting against that right while at the same time doing everything possible to halt any program or initiative to do anything to care for the "hundreds of thousands or millions" of babies that would be born unwanted if this right didn't exist. If you are not willing to take responsibility for those babies you want to force women to have, you are a hypocrite indeed.

quote:

3) You can't make a problem go away by legalizing it. The democrats would love to legalize Illegal Immigration, Marijuana, and gay marriage so they can pretend like there is no longer a problem. The reality is that it only makes the problem worse. The democrats method of operation has always been to hand out taxpayer money in order to buy votes, and cater to special interest groups. To hell with what the vast majority want. In fact, the democrats are like a high school slut, they can't say no to anyone, except the vast majority of course who do have a good understanding of the Constitution, capitalism, and good moral values.

Let's go into the following one by one. In at least two cases the problem isn't what you describe, it is the fact that the laws governing them are ineffective or completely uncalled for.

quote:

Even if there was an amnesty for illegal aliens, which no one is currently proposing, that would not make them citizens nor would it by any means 'leave us no choice' but to put them on that path. It would be very easy to provide an amnesty, should one be desired, while making a green card a necessary step on that path. This is not to mention the fact that a general amnesty is a pipedream fostered by the right wing monster shouters to try to hide the fact that our immigration policy isn't working. The fantasy is that we can build a fence across the entire boarder, round up 12,000,000 people and dump them on the other side when the financial interests of some very rich and powerful companies depend on their underpaid labor.

quote:

5) Legalizing Marijuana may sound like a good idea unless you have actually known someone who is a pothead. Do you really want to be working with people who come into work high or get high while on their breaks, and you end up doing most of the work for them or have your life endangered by their carelessness? Do you really think it's right for children to have to live in an environment where they are exposed to a 2nd hand smoke, mind altering drug during their most important mental development of their lives?

Would you want to buy a house where people have smoked pot in it for years? Banks would be foreclosing on homes that they would have to completely gut before they sold them.

Ahhh..that's right....Alcohol is legal and I just hate it when all my co-workers go out and get so drunk that they come back from work and puke in my in basket. Seeing my boss grab a morning beer or six is something that I have to deal with every day of my life. And hearing my office manager singing "Feelings" at the top of her lungs in an alcoholic stupor is distracting from my emails. The fantasy level here is so high I can't even wade through it. Suffice it to say there are no studies that indicate that marijuana either adds to air pollution or to lower generational IQ's. But making up facts is a good thing on Limbaugh Lane.

quote:

6) Legalizing gay marriage sounds harmless enough, until you look a little deeper. Democrats claim to be Christians, but the bible clearly disapproves of homosexuality and clearly defines marriage as a sacred ceremony between a man and a woman. Yes, the bible teaches compassion for sinners which we all are, but to directly defy the bible on such a massive scale as an entire nation could very well invite the destruction of our nation. I would like to point out that the law of our land is the constitution, not the bible and most of us kind of like it this way. That you dare to use your personal religious beliefs to try to force others to live by your homophobic rants is distasteful to say the least. The fantasy is that there is a God who is going to destroy the United States because we are letting gays have the same rights as straight people even though they pay the same taxes. You don't like gay marriage? Don't enter into one. And having known gay people who have served in our military under fire, worked as cops, firemen and one who was a teamster who could kick your ass without breathing hard, your stereotyping is about as ridiculous as the rest of your arguments. Nice to see a flat out "I'm a homophobe and proud of it" type around. Most have a little more shame.

Lastly, the fantasy is that there is any correlation between gay parents and gay kids. They've done studies. Do some reading.

I intended to do all 10 of your points...but to tell you the truth, I'm getting a little nauseated reading them. I leave it to others to continue your little tour down the fertilizer strewn streets of Limbaugh Lane.

tazzygirl -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/29/2009 7:43:51 PM)

For example....

1) You can't spend your way to prosperity when you are already in debt. That's common sense. Even the Congressional Budget Office said that their stimulus program would have a negative long term impact. What they are doing is attempting to create the illusion that all is well, but in reality they are getting you in deeper and deeper

Now, this is listed as a fantasy world of Democrats.

However, what about the 700 billion TARP Bush signed?

Bush to sign stimulus package Wednesday
President said he's looking forward to signing $170 billion economic stimulus package passed last week by Congress. Consumers could see tax rebate checks by May.

http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/11/news/economy/bush_stimulus/?postversion=2008021115

The president's new plan resembles the administration's $98 billion stimulus plan enacted in 2001 and 2003. Republicans say it helped thwart a major recession then, something both parties are working together to avoid now.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/BushLegacy/story?id=4156541&page=1

I could hunt for more. However, i think, on this one alone, i have made my case. Both parties have faced financial issues none of us would have wanted to deal with. But to point to only ONE party as being the culprit is wrong... so very wrong... because both parties are at fault.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/29/2009 8:13:51 PM)

okay, so...

from tied2dabed's complaints, it's bad for anyone to tell him he can't have a hechler and koch with a 30 round clip, which can literally cut the head off someone if they are competent in their use of such a weapon.

However, it's okay for anyone owning that hechler and koch with a 30 round clip to tell someone risking their life  -or risking potential permanent cripplement - from violence working as a teacher in a public school, that they can't have the right to say that a slimey fish saw life as being rather limited in opportunities for personal prosperity in the limited environs it shared with the other slimy fishes.   And since that slimey fish was a Repblican, it decided deux ex machina and manifest destiny were great fucking ideas and thus the widdle fishie worked out like Sanity to get those widdlew fish fins tuff enuff to get the fish from the water to the mud.  All for the sake of its progeny, because the Fishy ahd Family Values.  It wants its kids to have "More" than it had itself.  And after crawling up onto the mud and seeing territory that NEVER belonged to the Fish (but now it does, because, well, the Fish saw it, and whatever made the Fish and this new place must like the Fish best for no particular reason except it suits the Fish), and the Fish tells it's kids...

"someday, you'll be a fucking FROG son, and all this as far as your eyes can see will be YOURS, and all the flies you can eat, too."

Because in terms of  structural biological and anatomical advancement (like going from a pistolero to a gatling gun used to mow down Indians to the browning M 50 to take out the gooks) "it just made sense".

like Free market economy sans any restraints made sense.

I might add that the newly-muscular fishy fins cannot cut off someone's head like the 30 round clip can allow you to do.

so far, if we condense this to "don't take away any of my gun rights" as tied complained about, we have the same people still often demanding the right to take away a teacher's right to say the fish became a frog, right?  I got this one?

tazzygirl -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/29/2009 8:19:14 PM)

I got no problem with evolution.

I got no problem with gun rights.

I got a problem with the need to have 30 round clip, an AK47, ect.
