This shows in reference to everything you have said about Savage being band from America.

What band was he in?

My husband is a fan of the guy so I have had to listen to him in the car when we go places.

Oh my god, it's hard to imagine a worse torture than being stuck in a vehicle with Limbaugh's shit blurting out from the car radio [:(] . You have my utmost sympathy, siren.

LMAO Yes it can be painful at times.

You really hold a grudge, don't you.

Stop trying to make yourself look like some kind of a martyr. I call you on your bullshit, and that's pretty much all I have to say to you since you called me a sociopath. I've long since given up  trying to have a reasoned discussion with you. If you don't want people calling you out for  your bullshit, maybe you could focus on cutting back a bit on the bullshit.

Grudge? Of course not! I don't hold grudges. But the way I relate to people, and the opinions I hold of them, is directly influenced by the way they relate to me. When, out of a clear blue sky, someone calls me an "ignorant sociopath", it's inevitable that that's going to have an effect on the way I relate to that person in the future. And I don't think anyone would be surprised to find that one effect is that I'm probably not going to waste a lot of time or keystrokes in the future trying to have a civil, rational discussion with that person. What would be the point?

Yeah, God forbid we should keep tactical nukes out of the hands of good, honest sportsmen who just wish to use them for deer hunting. (An overstatement of extent, but not of kind.) Seriously, deer season is almost upon us, and I'm looking forward to doing a little hunting, but the last thing those beered-up loons need is an Uzi to bring down Bambi.

I've yet to meet a cop who doesn't want automatic, military style guns off the streets. Why? Because those are the men and women who have to stare down the barrels of them the most often. But there do seem to be plenty of tin pot David Koresh types, unstable teens out to kill their classmates, and drug dealers who are pretty damn happy that they can outgun just about any police force they come up against.

Word. A shotgun or bolt action rifle is all you need for hunting, and nobody has any objection to keeping a handgun in the house or the car for self defence.
Anything beyond that, though, and you're probably planning a bank job.

I'm not planning any bank robberies in the foreseeable future, but I do enjoy shooting an AR-15. It's a fun gun on the range. Functionally, it's no different than my dad's 40-year old deer rifle - a .308 semi-automatic is a .308 semi-automatic. Assault-style weapons are used in only a tiny percentage of violent crime, and there's no sensible reason to ban them.

Were you outraged when Cat Stevens was kept out of the US?

I think you made this up. Funny [8D]!

Edit: I can't find anything on Google about this.

Found something on Wikipedia. It appears as if he was band from U.S at 2004 and then admitted back in the U.S at 2006. So, what is your point?

You're freaking out that a right winger who claims most autistic children are simply faking it is banned from the UK. Cat Stevens who had no connection to anything hateful got banned from the US for no reason at all. I asked a simple question, were you outraged when Cat Stevens was kept out of the US. Since you didn't even know it happened I guess it is safe to assume you weren't outraged.

If you mean semi automatic weapons with assault rifle stylings, there is a single reason. Too often the weapon is made almost identically to the automatic capable military version and it is a fairly simple matter to convert it to selective fire.

If you mean actual assault rifles they should be banned because no civilian has need for a selective fire weapon.

"You're freaking out that a right winger who claims most autistic children are simply faking it is banned from the UK."

how funny.  I wonder how many aspects of how many gadgets and how many security systems that protect such gadgets, used by most people on this board EVERY DAY, were in some part created, designed or improved by someone with Upper Spectrum Asperger's (since autism falls with the range of aspergers).

That's a popular myth, Ken, but it's just not true. It's almost impossible for anyone but a highly skilled gunsmith to convert a semi-auto assault-style weapon without the manufacturer's parts, which are illegal under the same statute that makes it illegal to possess fully-automatic weapons in the first place. It's not like you can just walk into WalMart and buy a kit - the only people allowed to own or purchase this equipment are people who are already allowed to own or purchase machine guns anyway.

And even at that, many - if not most - AR-15 style weapons cannot be converted to full auto at all, because they were never designed in a full-auto version. My own LR-308C, from Panther Arms, is an example. I'm on vacation at the moment, so I don't have my Panther catalog to consult, but if I had to guess I would speculate that out of the 40 or 50 models of assault-style rifles they manufacture, less than 4 or 5 are capable of firing fully auto. I suppose that technically speaking,  a highly skilled gunsmith could engineer the weapon to fire full auto, but anyone who could do that is capable of building his own machine gun from scratch to begin with, so the point is moot.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/30/2009 12:18:09 AM)

Panther PRODUCT:  9 outta 10 (at least)

Panther "promotion"?  (including logos, internet banner ads, etc.)?

3 outta ten.  at best.
\
anyone with a problem with that can link to any Panther Logo/banner and then the Panther-competitor of their choice.

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/30/2009 12:19:44 AM)

I'm not sure what you just said...

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/30/2009 12:28:26 AM)

oh, I think you are.

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: Glen Beck and rush Limbaugh. (9/30/2009 12:31:08 AM)

No. No, I'm not. The way you can tell I'm not is because... well, i said I'm not. That's the key.

Your post doesn't make sense to me. What are you trying to say with this banner ad-logo business?

Yes, grudge. Why not go all the way, Panda, and make that entire cmail and its background public. I once considered you a friend, didn't I?

I stand behind what I wrote, and I didn't make a statement in that cmail at all, I asked you two very specific questions.

Very true.
The really weird thing, of course is the middle and lower class Republicans spend all their time running around doing the GOP plutocracy's bidding for them. I've never understood that. All of these astroturf campaigns (the teabagging, tantrums at Senators and what have you) are being staged by people the individuals running the Republican Party don't give a fuck about and probably wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. What do they get out of it?
