I kindly ask that you don't misquote me. What her guy does is sickening (if, indeed, her accounts are authentic - there is no evidence that we aren't discussing a whole bunch of extreme fantasies here): is he sickening? I have no idea.

Cheers.

To you, yes,

Of course, such a comment cannot be made without the indirect implication that someone who chooses to be with someone who does "sickening" things must have something 'wrong' with them.

I'm not saying you actively have taken any tone that seeks to stifle her choices or directly insult her, but the sort of comment you're making cannot be divided entirely from the innuendos it suggests, even if you keep those safely tucked away in the respectful privacy of your own head.

I admit reading what thornhappy wrote makes me wonder if you (daddysprop) have a complete understanding of the difference.

Clearly he is everything to you and it is my hope that you are safe and happy.
If things seem ambiguous, you are not being disloyal to him by seeking clarification.

what i wonder is why one persons allegations warrant comments at all. or are we staring at each other in some cyber cafe i know nothing about? because it is totally impossible that this person might have it wrong and may have misstated something that other people are jumping on right?

i can't believe the diatribe i'm reading. this isn't a clinic and no one knows what the heck is or isn't taking place. she's a slave. the definition and parameters of her enslavement are not mine or anyone else's to judge or validate. before we start pushing pamphlets and having a kumbaya moment, have a peek in your own backyard beforehand.

It's quite obvious that I never said such a thing, and therefore you did misquote me, and now you are being verbose. It's actually quite tedious. Obviously, there are people who think very differently from you and who believe a man has no business breaking the bones of his companion, whether she begs him to or not, and especially not when she is his ward!

If you don't understand this, the dichotomy between you and others is such that there is little point discussing anything any further.

First things first: implications are not words. I did not say you "said" anything, so retorting that "I never said such a thing" seems kind of moot. Your words implied precisely the things I've just gone over.

In addition, my comment wasn't just about you. If you'd quoted all contextual posts, we would have seen that what was originally said was:

quote:

Note: I see little evidence of anyone trying to demean her. Her guy, on the other hand, is another matter  .

You mean apart from what implications her staying with a "sickening" person make innuendos for?

Your original comment referred to "anyone trying to demean her".

And, yes. you clarified that you didn't call him "sickening", you just called his actions sickening. Fair distinction. I wasn't arguing that. I was arguing the inferences that we can logically make if we take your words at face value (once again: that choosing to stay with someone who does "sickening" things indicates something 'wrong' with an individual).

Some people have a devout conviction of needing to save people, even from themselves. prop normally has two flavors of detractors: 1) the type that have read previous honest admissions of some extreme instances of her past and decided they know better than she what is best for her and deal with any similar topics in such an armchair psychology sort of way (to the plain disregard for that whole consent thing), and 2) people who get upset because they think she keeps describing herself a more of a slave than others (which is odd considering that she is at one of the farther extremes of surrender that I have encountered., so it's true in most cases. It's just that some people equate her more extreme degree of slavery to mean she's trying to say she's "better", which is usually just a reflection of their own coupling of the two, for personal reason).

She is the sort of person who can get the emotional projectory-empaths coming out of the woodwork.

This is all, though, just another area that merits heavy introspection and understanding of how malleable and fluid human psychology is (particularly with how "disorder" is defined) and what the base foundations for respect of choice and respect of life should be.

thank you for the repartee. that was truly point worthy. [;)]

There is a clear legal standard here, namely, "danger to oneself or others" - it may mean little to you lying alone in your bed at night with a jar of Vaseline in your D&D fantasy world, but it means a great deal to people fighting in court at this moment because they sell floggers or to the women I've talked to who've been put in the hospital with broken bones, ruptured spleens, bruised livers, punctured lungs and broken jaws because some "dom" thinks BDSM is a license to take out all of his suppressed hatred of his mother on some woman looking for a little kinky release.

You can keep dressing up an appeal to emotion in prettier clothes and it won't change what it is. That you think your crusade to save the world's submissives from bad D-types and their own stupidity (or maybe just plain mistakes life comes with) somehow makes a real argument for deciding what people can or cannot do consensually with their own bodies is more the matter of fantasy books than any of the RPG literature on my coffee table.

Yes, they're there. Go ahead, make another geek joke. It flatters your arguments so well. [:)]

It sets a precedent - I doubt any of this will make one shit of difference to DP if she's intent on committing suicide by dom - it might make a difference to rest of the women in here that have not abrogated their right to make choices in their lives.

It might make a difference to all the mentally incapacitated women who are so frail in their self-awareness that you must prance onto the battlefield of improper consent and stomp out the evildoers!

But, you see...precedent is important. One misguided fellow like you being permitted to wield your morals like a universal scythe reaping 'acceptable consensual action' is the fertile soil from which censorship, oppression and bigotry are born. I'd much rather not set that precedent.

But, hey....apples and oranges.

quote:

That's why the law is the way it is, because you take away the rights of one, and all rights are threatened. It isn't perfect, but that's how it works.

You realize you are arguing for the removal of rights, correct? You are arguing for someone's innate freedom to consent to be judged by strangers with moral high horses.

People like this are the reason those states define all kink as abusem, and that's another good reason to call bullshit in my book- if you don't know shere to draw the line, then the law will draw it for you - I prefer to draw my own.

I'm not sure what this means but it sounds awfully "regnegade"-ish. you draw your line wherever you please and keep it out of the sandboxes of anyone else who hasn't chosen to be involved with you.

thank you kindly. however, the original post references this:

I question his compassion, based on your past posts.  This is the man who's broken your bones, blackened both your eyes as a result of his discipline while you were at a hotel (and then advised you to pull down your baseball cap and wear sunglasses to mask them), and raped you immediately upon your return from a hospital.  Along with having you declared mentally incompetent, making you his ward, and not restored your legally independent status.

Amaros -> RE: what is TPE 24/7? (10/5/2009 7:26:10 PM)

She has no freedom; this is not a consensual relationship; she surrendered her right to consent when she allowed herself to be declared incompetent; any and all arguments regarding consent are rendered null and void; case closed.

At least now everyone in the thread can see flatly that you only approach this issue from the point of having some emotional repentance you feel you need to earn for the tragedies of your life and that you think, because of it, it grants you the place to make other people miserable (if not insult them) because you can't dissociate the events in your life from those of others.

Ride on, white knight. Ride on...

Here's a thought that might give you pause:

I've seen just as many of those violent sociopaths use 'right and wrong' as tools to cause their damage, as I have seen use 'I can get away with it, so I will.'

Successful sociopaths learn to project intense, but short-lived emotions. Righteous zeal works just as well as slick charisma.

One of the surest signs of a sociopath, is that they are certain that what they want must be what is right.

How certain are you?
