slaveluci -> Worst Movies of 2009 (according to "Rotten Tomatoes") (9/30/2009 5:58:14 AM)

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides/worst_of_the_worst/

Those responsible for the list said: "We've compiled a veritable cornucopia of dull, foolhardy, and outright terrible films, from legendary duds (Battlefield Earth) to chuckle-deficient comedies (Epic Movie), from hapless sequels (Basic Instinct 2) to scare-free would-be fright fests (Alone in the Dark). We've pored over the reviews to bring you the lowest Tomatometers of the decade........"

After perusing the list, I must say I had the good sense to stay away from 98% of these stinkers in the first place. I didn't think "One Missed Call" was as horribly bad as they ranked it and, though I haven't seen them, I thought "88 Minutes" and "Fear.Com" would be fairly decent.

What say you all? Let the debating begin![:)]

man, there were some stinkers this year but I can't get through that list (saw 3 pages worth, no arguments)

Ghost Rig (aka "Devils Tattoo") should be right near the top  if it wasn't listed on RT...

Arpig -> RE: Worst Movies of 2009 (according to "Rotten Tomatoes") (9/30/2009 7:09:40 AM)

Didn't see any of them, in fact I only even heard of 2 of them (Big Momma's House & Fear.com) so I really can't say if they were bad or not.

rikigrl -> RE: Worst Movies of 2009 (according to "Rotten Tomatoes") (9/30/2009 7:33:26 AM)

i've only seen 4 that are on the list, which is surprising because i watch a lot of movies. The four that i saw were definately stinkers, but one vid that i view as absolutely horrible didn't even make the list, "The Mist" had extremely annoying characters, an absurd story line, and had special effects that would have a ten year old saying "wtf?" lol. It rates a solid #1 on my list of "worst i've seen in the past year".

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Worst Movies of 2009 (according to "Rotten Tomatoes") (9/30/2009 8:06:13 AM)

LOL, it was one my faves!

I of course think the Mist was fucking Casablanca compared to the Pride Parade Gone Wrong narcissitic and childish crappification of F. Scott Fitzgerald entitled "The Beautiful and Damned ".  although that and the Mist were not 09 films.

i find it hilarious that all of larry the cable guy's movies were on that list XD

and i didn't think one missed call was that bad

Think I'll nominate RT for worst site of the year for coming up with that list of movies to even bother mentioning.

Worst that I've seen: Knowing, with Nicolas Cage, and Crank: High Voltage, with Jason Statham. And although I wouldn't call it "bad", I did fall asleep during Wolverine.

Most Over-Hyped: The Hurt Locker.

Best I've seen: The Hangover, 500 Days of Summer, Watchmen, Taken, and Inglorious Basterds.

Rented Knowing last weekend. I want my $1.08 back.[:'(]

Well, both the teenager and I looked at their list, and while most of them we agreed are not worth watching...there are quite a few that we actually enjoyed.

She thought that Cheaper by the Dozen 2; Big Momma's House 2; Good Luck Chuck; and Epic Movie were good and worth watching.

I thought that Lost Souls; The New Guy; Soul Survivors; and The Covenant were good and worth watching.

And both of us enjoyed Bless the Child.

I was hesitant to rent it, but a gal said if I liked movies such as Alien, Aliens, I most likely would enjoy it. Well, she didn't have to say another word. Though she did say it wasn't action packed. But how could she relate the two in the least is beyone me. That female is lucky she's not a close friend, because I would strangle her. They couldn't be serious with that movie. And I enjoy Cage in comedy or action films, but he need not try for rolls that require depth. Not that he could have saved the movie from it's self.

"Taken" and "Inglourious Basterds" were definitely great, Level. I haven't seen any of the others but "The Hurt Locker" has definitely been on my list to see. So it isn't all that good?

Thanks for the reply, IrishMist. I haven't seen any of those you listed except "Epic Movie" and I didn't care much for it. Their list was definitely full of stinkers...........luci
