It's probably an old recurring question, but what do Mistresses look for in potential slaves?

dreamerdreaming -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 5:33:27 AM)

Willing obedience.

And an easy smile, and sense of humor.

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 6:34:17 AM)

Obedience, and a desire to serve graciously and enthusiastically.    M

Not a Mistress but:

Obedience, Listening Skills, Willingness and Desire to Submit, Someone to make their lives easier.

Those are the basics.

Then we get into individual tastes.... which are wide and varied as each sunset or a fingerprint. Intelligence, Strength (not just muscles, yo), Sensibility, Financial Stability, Entertaining, A Joy to be around, does not see the tasks set forth as burdens but pleasures.

Oh, a pretty face helps too. If I were to be so shallow.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 8:35:14 AM)

I think I am going to look for Pyro!  [8D]

PeonForHer -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 8:50:57 AM)

Pyro's right there, Lady Hib.  About five inches above your head.  Duh!

I am a woman of a certain age, dear, my eyesight isn't what it was!

I didn't know you were into age play Lady H...  Of course I suppose eventually we are all sort of into that, eh?  Kinky!  [;)][;)]

slavekal -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 12:43:27 PM)

How about a guy who is going to friggin' show up at all?  Many ladies have lamented that so called subs stand them up all the time.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 2:12:26 PM)

Tell it, Kal!  That's why women like LP and I say, "I will be at Event X, come on down."  A person has to impress the hell out of me to get me to give up my personal time on a *chance* that he will have the balls to show up.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 2:31:07 PM)

Intelligence, common interests outside kink, ability to be articulate, service orientation, curiosity, physical attractiveness, and emotional stability.  Not necessarily in that order.

Arrogance -> RE: New slaves (10/2/2009 10:41:09 PM)

A tight ass.

choccywoc -> RE: New slaves (10/3/2009 4:10:53 AM)

Arrogance, a tight ass you say, that lets me out.

aaaaAye-Men!  Aaaaaa Aye-Men!  Aye-Aye Men, Amen Amen!

Sing it over

aaaaAye-Men!  Aaaaaa Aye-Men!  Aye-Aye Men, Amen Amen!

*Sorry, Southern gospel raise'n showing through.

And a certain ease about themselves that lets me know this is not an 'act' for my benefit.

This is perhaps off the topic, but I just looked at your profile (like to know a bit more about who's posting and all that, especially if he or she is new to the boards), and I found your journal entries to be a complete turn-off.  If I were looking at the moment, I'd give you a miss.  Why?  Because your journal is all about fantasy women:  your gorgeous pro-domme, Madonna, Victoria Beckham's shoes, the Agent Provacateur models . . .

First, this indicates to me that you might be living in a BDSM fantasy world, and it makes you sound shallow.  Second, most "real" women (those of us with jobs outside of the glamour fields) are not going to be able to measure up to these fantasy women unless you are willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars or pounds (or drachma, whatever) on our upkeep, assuming that we want to become that kind of woman in the first place, which *I* certainly don't.  I look great for my age and am very stylish most of the time, but I'd much rather exercise my brain than spend time in a salon getting my nails done.  I think men are completely ignorant of how much time, effort and money maintaining that kind of appearance takes.  I also think they are completely ignorant of what appeals to women.  Women like to feel that they are special, which means not being compared to some fake ideal of feminine beauty.

So, salivate over these women all you want, but don't be surprised if "real" dominas walk on by.

Venatrix, thanks for the advice, you are very probably correct. What sort of item
do you think i shoud post? Or would it be better just to leave it blank?

Well, *when* I was looking, I was looking for someone intellectual and cultured, someone who shared a lot of my interests, both kinky and vanilla.  I need to have a mental connection with someone before I can have any interest in dominating him, and I know that to be true for the vast majority of non-pro-dommes.  So, telling us about your outside-of-kink interests is always a great place to start, and it's better to write in depth about a few interests than just list several.

For example, "I like sailing, art, and music."  Doesn't do much to get someone's attention, does it?  But, "I recently saw a Sam Francis exhibition and was struck by his masterful use of vibrant colours" tells us a bit more about you:  you like modern art, you go out and do things (instead of sitting home wanking on the sofa to BDSM porn), and that you are analytical and capable of being emotionally moved (you didn't just look at the paintings, you actually *saw* the paintings and got something out of them).

This sort of detail also makes it easier for a woman to have a reason to contact you:  "I was looking at your profile and saw that you were interested in Sam Francis.  I love his work so much, I even own the Swatch watch that he designed.  I was recently at the DeYoung Museum here in San Francisco and spent several minutes looking at one of his paintings. Blah, blah, blah."

That gives you a reason to write back:  "So, what other types of modern art do you like?  More blah, blah, blah."  Before you know it you might have made a kinky friend who will be happy to tie you up and use you for her pleasure when she's not blathering on about modern art.

See how it works?  It's not that difficult.  We may be kinky, but when all is said and done, for most of us, the kink is only one facet of our lives.

KYsissy -> RE: New slaves (10/3/2009 8:46:28 AM)

Well whatever I am doing, you should do the opposite.

choccywoc -> RE: New slaves (10/3/2009 9:08:01 AM)

Venatrix, thanks that's good advice, i'll go to work on those ideas.
