A master CAN have full authority over his slave. It doesn't automatically mean he DOES.

You have as much authority as she gave you when the two of you negotiated your relationship, remember that? You did negotiate, right?

Perhaps the OP means "should I have full authority". To which I can only reply - there are very few "shoulds" about the whole thing. Don't worry if you are not meeting any body elses expectations - what floats your boat is unique to you - same goes for who you're with.
Just relax, have fun and communicate.

Seriously I often think we'd be better off without the internoodle encouraging all this checking in with the collective.
