Status: offline 		I know the Mods at Collarme don't have time to check all the pictures like they used to do and the rules have changed.  However, most of the pics I've seen have been okay until tonight.  While reading the forums I saw my first Collarme cock shot.  It was not tastefully done as I've seen some of the nude pictures.  It was just a cock and balls...ugly ones to boot.   I immediately hid that user so that I will never have to see that again, at least from that member.

Okay.  I'm an adult.  I should be used to that sort of thing.  I would expect it on another unsavory web site.  I just didn't expect anything like that here.  Guess I've been spoiled over the years by the Mods preventing those types of pictures.  I suppose I thought this was a better place, a more civilized place, not a meat market like some places that I stopped visiting.  For some reason the reality just hit me hard tonight.  Maybe it's because I'm not feeling well. 

And now I'll return to the land of OZ, somewhere over the rainbow.

Status: offline 		I know and understand that, Music.  I also realize the site has grown tremendously in the past few years, putting a strain on those wonderful volunteers.  They just don't have the time to look at pictures anymore.  But, I can still feel sad that cock shots could become normal around here. 

Heck, I'm just feeling sad because I expected this place to not have them ever.

Status: offline 		You don't have to see avatars / pics here on the CollarChat forums. There's an option under 'My Profile' (in the upper right hand corner of the page), halfway down that profile settings page under 'Viewing Preference' select 'Simplified Flat Style' & then hit 'Apply' or 'OK' at the bottom of the profile settings page . . . . . Voila, the message boards without the possibility of icky pics . ... .

It also can help the pages load faster .... . .

Can't do anything for ya about the other side other than the oft-repeated suggestion to make plentiful use of the 'Hide' feature . .... .

Status: offline 		The whole "this site is run by volunteers so don't complain unless you want to pay for it" attitude is crap.  There are other options, like asking for more volunteers to help.  Or putting up a reporting system that actually removes offensive photos instead of merely hiding them for 24 hours.  But neither of those things is going to happen.  Just hide/block the offensive members and know that the site admins don't give a flying fig about it.  That's the real reason there's no point in complaining.

I guess I could hide all the avatars, however, I really enjoy seeing 99.9% of them. 

I'm hoping this doesn't seem too much like a complaint.  It was a more of wishing for the "Good Old Days" than complaining about something I know I can not change. 

And yes, I do wish they'd ask for more volunteers.  I actually have time I could donate if it's needed.

Sorry to have to disagree with you.  I do not consider D/s a sexual activity at all.  When we do our "thing" sex is not a part of it.  I will agree that BDSM is sexual for some.  As a site I have never considered this  a sex site.  ALT is sex site, or better to call it a meat market.  Collarme has always been a discussion site.  It's where people may ask questions of others who may have more experience.  It's a place to get a second or third opinion. 

Showing a nude body is not the point here.  Nude bodies don't bother me at all.  It's the cock shot that has sadly made its appearance on this site that has me saddened.  Just a cock and balls...nothing more.  It's as if the person sees himself only as a cock and balls with no substance other than sex or pissing.

Maybe the clock could be turned back if the site openly requested volunteers. My guess is that an adequate number of members would step up to the plate.

Or, how would you all feel about a token monthly subscription fee of say, $4.95 per month? This might clean up the place a bit, and maybe even drop the need for all or most of the ads too.

That may be true, but there's nothing wrong with at least hoping folks will have a little class. 

Not everyone sees this as a sex site.  Many of us see it as a site that is geared toward BDSM and power structured relationships.  It's not Alt and it's not AFF.

I'm not opposed to pics of genitalia or someone's ass if they are play related shots.  There's a difference between showing off a good rope tie, day after play bruises, a cutting, or any other thing and somebody who just wants to throw up naked pics of themselves on the site.  (Speaking of throwing up, you should see some of the bad dick pics there are out there.)  If it's really a compulsion to have a dick or ass pic on the profile, is it too much to ask that it's not the main pic?

On the other hand it is plainly clear that people who choose to represent themselves like that have nothing in common with me and so makes the decision of block-delete-hide much easier.

I hate to disagree with you, but possibly you have not noticed; now there is a report photo button, and if that photo is reported it is reviewed by a human,. who then either lets it go or rejects it.It does not get hidden for 24 hours.
