I know I can't quote an email in here, but I can quote an excerpt. At least that is my understanding at this time. So I get this "Your tender looks and the beautiful things i read attracted my attention and i must say that i am interested in you. ". This is within a well written mail and was the dead giveaway, since I have no pic in my profile. And actually my looks are far from tender. I am not so sure my words in the profile are quite beautiful, but to some they may be. I do need to update that BTW. But the point is, would I need a minute to figure this out if that one mistake hadn't been made ? The other mistake is that 'she' was new to the site, but had to leave soon so I needed to contact her on her regular email. That was seconds later, maybe I am just getting slow. So, what if scammers had brains ? Not mentioning looks. Being willing to sit back and wait for the time for the sting, to be patient. To be willing to write more than two fucking emails to get two grand. To put some time and effort into it. If I were to do it I would make it seem everything was OK, but then later run the game. In other words, just reply in the venue. I guess the jist of this post is that scammers are not all that smart. This proves nothing one way or the other about how profitable it may be, but with a little bit of ambition they could probably do alot better. I could do better, I just refuse to do so. Ever steal something ? Don't fucking lie to me , you have. Everybody has almost. Remember that uneasy feeling ? Some don't, others never forget. Thing is now it is expected. Everything is a scam almost, mortgages, cards, cable, gas, electric. You have to watch all these bills. Every time they get a chance they sneak more surcharges and the like on you. But what if the mail was misdirected ? I could see it, click on one and start typing. At this point I am tempted to report it, but the way the page reads is that I make the judgement. It's like I do believe the death penalty is a good thing, but I also think that some really profound proof should be extant. I and I alone make this judgement ? If I am to do so I must take care. We had threads on the Bible, let me put this out there : "Judge not lest ye be judged". This can mean many things, amongst which could be (with the added errors in translation) "Judge as you would be judged". Sounds more logical doesn't it ? Enough on that. I was just thinking, what if I responded back saying that the only way to contact me is and will remain for some time, on CM ? All in all, the way I see it is that the need for immediacy to contact them on a regular email is the key. Regardless of that one giveaway, the email immediacy still exists. Why is it so important ? Now while you can't quite get on CM from a library or school PC, you can almost anywhere else. CM is free and you sign in regardless of your ISP. Where is the urgency ? Now give me the excuse that you are living in a commune and can't let people see. Well what do you think they will see on regular email ? But what if there was a team of really smart scammers who went in together, quit their day jobs and thought about it all day. Who couldn't they fool ? Especially if they have at least one computer geek in their midst. I just wonder how much money they could pull in. I mean these lame assholes must be making some money because they keep doing it. I think people who really know what they're doing could suck these suckers dry. T
