Yes, but SOME of us don't really give a hoot about photos........written content, and ease of navigating such, ranks far higher to me.

Besides, most of the photos people feel compelled to share, are only attractive to those doing the sharing.

I wanted to bob into this thread again & say, yeah, the people!!!

I've made a bunch of friends here, it took relatively little time to get comfy, & that's not the way it's been playing out on FL . . .. .

&, I don' know, it feels less 'playful' over on FL than it does here . . . .. I like silly mixed in with my serious, in generous helpings. Life is too fucking serious too fucking much of the time, some lightness & irreverence & snark significantly makes most everything better . . . . .

Hey, KIA is too over on Fet!  YEAH baby!!

Which doesn't mean it still isn't better here.  It's just that we are only maybe 89.98876% deprived over there.

I love CM... I might bitch from time to time about something or other, but the same things are everywhere and at every site. I hate the black at that other site... that you have to join a group, that everything you say is on a wall or limited in space or threads you hunt for are closed if you haven't posted on the first whatever pages. There is more, but I won't go into it.

This place is home. I miss a lot of the faces and comments that some who have moved on made, but I think this is the best format, I have more control over some things and can easily access all the boards and threads at a glance and pop around all over the place.

But mostly... people... the people here are familiar and comfortable and you get to know people even if you don't really know them. It is nice to watch people grow or change or evolve as well as having a record of your own evalution. And a biggie... you all are far more fun and funnier than anyone I have seen over there!

ORIGINAL: Tslaveboy

I belong on some other discussion groups and have been seeing a large exodus of former Collarme members showing up because they are dissatisfied with membership on Collarme. Collarme was one of the first discussion groups I joined when I was first starting out because I didn't know anything and it was a great place to get answers for my newbie questions. I still post here when I have a question I'm embarrassed to ask on other sites because it seems so basic.

But I was wondering what the Collarme members who remain behind liked about Collarme that makes them remain as regulars?

I post in both places. But then I'm kinda greedy. There tends to be more topics to post to there, so I'm there more than here.  But CM overall is much more "all-embracing" than FL.

Well, my first taste of forum life was here on CollarMe.  I tried other places and found them, for the most part, to not be as friendly as CM.
I've met a couple of people, spoke with a couple others by phone and that's what draws me back...the people who post here.
I love the wit and snark...thank god for snark! I can always learn a thing or two I didn't know and maybe even pass on something of value...or atleast get it off my cheast!
Last but not least...the drama.  There is a reason for the preview scroll being titled "As the Collar Turns"

CollarMe Trooper...do we get a special badge or something?  A yearly awards banquet?  At least a secret handshake?

Damn right! That's something FetLife will never have over CM. It's like we get to have banana cream pie and they don't.

Why?  Easy.  Bear, Greedy, LadyH, Bounty, Red, Fluffy, IronBear, and a number of others.  (If I didn't put your name here, don't feel bad, you still know who you are)

That and we have threads that everyone can absolutely refuse to be serious on.  Life is too short to not just have fun sometimes.  If I wanted to be serious all the time, I'd become a realtor or some shit like that.  Bleh.

Seriously . . . .. *nods*

I've tried, repeatedly, to read thru those earnest, chock-full-o'-info threads over there, the ones full of well-behaved conversation that stays pretty scrupulously on-topic . . . . . . & I about fall asleep . . . . . I'd rather read an econ text. (Macro-fetishist? Yep.)

I think I'm too ADHD for FL . . . . . .

Tho' maybe there's an econ-fetishist group . . . . .. .

*wanders off muttering*
