Tslaveboy -> Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 4:19:29 PM)

I belong on some other discussion groups and have been seeing a large exodus of former Collarme members showing up because they are dissatisfied with membership on Collarme. Collarme was one of the first discussion groups I joined when I was first starting out because I didn't know anything and it was a great place to get answers for my newbie questions. I still post here when I have a question I'm embarrassed to ask on other sites because it seems so basic.

But I was wondering what the Collarme members who remain behind liked about Collarme that makes them remain as regulars?

I stayed because the FUN people whose noses weren't so far out of joint were here. [:)]

Also, this site is, IMO, a lot easier to navigate around in.

Interesting topics, interesting posters, interesting posts.

Whats not to love, and the [sm=jerry.gif] cat fights are fun!

I view collarme as having a forum style I like interacting with, and use another site as more of a "kinky Facebook" to keep up with my established friends in the lifestyle and what local events are happening. I use the personals side of collarme as a personals ad space.

CaringandReal -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 4:59:31 PM)

Large message boards are far more interesting. Certain places that have much smaller discussion groups lack diversity and a wide range of topics and, since the groups are "owned" by an individual or a couple, there's all the stupid petty god-complex emotional drama shit to deal with that is common to chatrooms (censorship, arbitrary rigid rules, favortism, clique madness, great dramatic entrances and exits etc.).

I agree with much of what's already been said, plus places like FetLife, while interesting in their own right, are a pain in the ass to use.

CM is a fine forum, and I appreciate it being here.

thornhappy -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:06:28 PM)

Much, much easier to navigate topics here.  Fet's like one huge flat file with little teeny offshoots.

dreamerdreaming -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:11:03 PM)

The great people, of course. And the fabulous intellectual discourse. Duh. [8|]

I never got past the awful black background, in Fetlife.

People of course just for the people; friends I have now and friends I will make. Both sides, the forums and the profiles are of some little value to me so I remain.

fluffypet61 -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:21:54 PM)

i'm with you on the Black background - it give me a headache.

i have yet to figure out how to find anything on fet.

This is a good place, good friends, good ideas..... and why should i change?

LaTigresse -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:25:55 PM)

I also dislike the format of Fetlife......not nearly as easy to navigate.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:28:03 PM)

I felt comfortable the moment I discovered this place. I feel loyalty to it because I met the man I'll spend the rest of my life with here on the boards.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:29:47 PM)

Plus...fetlife is a motherfucker to navigate.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 5:34:35 PM)

Topics are easier to navigate you don't have to join special little side groups to comment on something that interests you, and it just is so much nicer here, as to viewing an commenting and text size and options.

Holy cats! I agree with everything everybody has said so far!

What the hell has happened to me?

KYsissy -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 6:04:11 PM)

Are you saying there is more than one BDSM website?!?!?

Well, it's quite amusing to think that all the people who left this website went to vanilla websites, but unfortunately occam's razor suggests that however improbable it might be, the simplest solution is that they managed to find another bdsm website. :p

kiwisub12 -> RE: Collarme Troopers who remain (10/11/2009 6:09:29 PM)

Umm.....Panda - you have become a team player!!!

never let it be said that i don't have a sadistic streak [sm=evil.gif]

Partly the interface is usable and partly I too must like the Barry Williams show. That second part is currently under review.

What most everyone else has said....
