it's really all about maturity from my point of view.   you can be 20 and have the wisdom and maturity of a 40 year old, specially if you came from a bad childhood where you where forced to grow up fast.   There are decent D's around that have been practicing since they where 15 usually because their family did and where open about it and encouraged it.   Society measures age and experience different all over the world even all over north america.   On the flip side I've also met plenty of immature and inexperienced D's that where 40+  sheltered life  maybe recently divorced and finally wanting to do what they where to oppressed to do before and approaching things as a screw it I'm going for it and jumping in with both feet with reckless abandon.  There is really no way to tell if someone is mature, immature, experienced or just a bulls hitter until you really find out who they are inside.
In the end it doesn't matter your age or experience all that matters is the chemistry you have with who you play with and your willingness to learn yes even you old guys with 30 years in the lifestyle should still be learning ;)     BDSM has a wealth of psychological and spiritual knowledge to learn about others and yourself weather you are 15 years old (hopefully playing with age appropriate partners)  or 80.
All that matters is you find a partner that is fulfilling to both of you in what ever your lifestyle.

As for my self they need to be on par with my life experiances and able to relate to things i've been through in life.  This pretty much narrows it down to within about 5 years +/- of my own age.  though there have been expeptions it's rare.

Good points made. I am an Ancient Mariner on the seas of BDSM but i have learned much from some who are so much younger and yet very sophisticated. The only complaint i would have is that some of the CM Profiles, both younger and older, especially young female dommes are so shallow and filled with false entitlement it makes one shudder. That may well be true on the male lists but i do not look there.

Where would we be without the agitators of the world attaching the electrodes of knowledge to the nipples of ignorance? I ask you.
