IF you don't think that we have some massive inflation coming down the pipe, I don't know what to tell ya. With all of the fake paper the Fed has printed, how low interest rates currently are, oh did I mention the devaluation of the US dollar, it seems to me that the writing is on the wall.

I pray that I am wrong. I really do hope so.

I wish you were too but that would just be wishful thinking.  Gold is hitting new highs because people see this coming.

I agree that with the spike in gold prices and the other factors mentioned, inflation is highly likely.  Not a result I want to happen but one that seems very probable. [&:]

And afterwards, gold will.......

Because so many people are convinced they're smarter than everyone else, people consistently buy high and sell low.

Where is this new gold money coming from? What got sold? Take your time.

As I told Thadius:

Certainly the Fed is aware that raising interest rates to prevent/control inflation is next--just not a great idea during the recession. As the recovery gains strength, it will happen. It's among the Fed's main jobs, and the Fed is able to act very quickly when needed.

Of far greater concern is our structural fiscal situation and the trade deficit. These will continue to be heavy anchors, and will get worse if we don't addressing them realistically.

Yep they do.  All I know is my brokerage account is 4x and my 401K is up 25 % from this time last year.  Bubble?  Maybe, my finger is ALWAYS on the sell button.  I missed a few millionaire makers this year but I keep my eye out for the next one.

The Dow is up today because of the financials and the banks. Lets give Bush the credit for saving the banks with his stimulus over a year ago.

Yes, the financials and the banks play a big part...too big of a part. The  Dow is a very small indicator of the overall economy and has been overblown for 50 years. (S&P 500 has out performed it) This is further evidence that most of the companies on the Dow are hardly 'industrials.'

Much more accurately, we give thanx to the American taxpayer who did the hard part...paid for wall street's 'success'  or lack of it and more accuratley...its success in its corruption of Washington.

I actually find myself agreeing with you. Strange!
