Status: offline 		A little boy in Louisianna got to ask the presedent a question. He asked "Why do people hate you" The president answered.

I disagree with a number of things Obama has done, but I have to say, I do like this president a lot.

I pretty much like Obama too for the most part. I just wish he wasn't saddled with the power-wrangling democrats in congress.

I also think he makes bad decisions with appointees, and nothing demonstrates partisan politics more than the fact that dems defend what they cannot and should not defend, just as republicans did with Bush.

It's sad that some folks are so jaded and twisted from their anger and partisanship they can't appreciate ANYTHING good that comes from someone they're determined to dislike. President Obama, I dig ya, man, if no one else does

I give everyone cute nicknames, and I try to be a real happy customer... some polls even say that most of the voting public would like to have a beer with me sometime... Maybe it's because I let Mr. Cheany run roughshod over the Constitution... or maybe it was that whole "startin' a war based on lies" thing... Or it coulda been that I turned America into a torture state... or that I'm tapping everyone's phones... or that people are disappearing off the streets, never to be heard from again... or that I'm giving HUGE tax breaks to my rich buddies, while I ask everyone else to take it up the ass.... 'Course, it coulda been because I got up in front of the UN, and told everyone they could either join us, or they could become our enemy... That seemed to piss some people off too...Then there's the whole "torpedoeing the economy thing..."

Yep. They were insisting that the President must be respected and treated with kid gloves and the sort of deference you'd reserve for a particularly mean tempered and oversensitive domme right up until they lost the election as well, iirc. That one went right of the window in January, didn't it?

Yall just don't get it. People hate people because they hate themselves and have to redirect it so they do not become self destructive.

I don't hate Bush, but if he or any of his clan show up at my door, they are not welcome here. Nothing else needs said. Obama is a young boy as far as this President game goes, I would welcome the chance to bend his ear. And if he fucks this country up like our last fucking "leader" he will be similarly barred from my home. That is my right.

But hate is a useless thing, and it is optional. I can prove it and have. People do what they do, and some will never be friends, that is a fact of life. So be it.

Status: offline 		I think his answer was excellent and very age appropriate for the asker. I do wish he would have explained a little more that its more like opponents in a game rather than HATING him. To me allowing that word to hang in the air was not appropriate and he could have been a little more clear. I do think this childs parents need to explain to him the difference between hate and love and like and dislike. No wonder he is confused if he only believes in love and hate -- the two extremes instead of all that floats in between.

BUt Obama has always been a good public speaker so i think his response was very good for a 4th grader.
