Greetings all....

One thing you have to realize about the CM chatrooms. They are just IRC with a java client. If the CM client doesn't work for you and you want to use them, get a standard IRC client, install it and log on to irc.collarme.com. /list the rooms and /join #whateverroomname you want. If it doesn't exist, you will create it when you name it. Most of the online chat through web sites is just a front end for the old IRC. So is the chat in many games. When you look at their commands, you will see IRC commands. The system works pretty well after all and the infrastructure is there so why not use it.

Now...the quality of chat rooms....yeah...that varies a great deal. Most are not worth it no matter what your interests are. But occasionally you will find one or find some people who are interesting.

Hi surrender within,
I do visit chatrooms - that's really how I started hanging out at CM. The best room I've found is the Caves of BDSM. They don't allow role play, and there is usually a pretty good topic. It's a small room (because people generally don't like the no role play rule), but the people are really great. I've met a few of them in real life, and they are just like they seem online.

I don't think that is what we are talking about. I find most people in the chat rooms have no idea that there is a forum attached to the chat room they are in. Some come directly from irc (like me that is how I found collarme) Not that i like the chat rooms much, for the reasons stated.

But if there as a forum USERS chat room, and maybe a thread in general BDSM to say 'hey in chat room' etc. (I am on a few other forums and this works fantastically as most users check the forums frequently and will join in the chat room when they see people they want to chat with or a topic that interests them)

I am curious, are there are collarme chatrooms that are good for conversation as well? I have visited a few but I find them lacking. Do those of you who frequent the boards have any specific CM chatroom you like?
