I've figured out why the term "obedient" bothers me.

The terms "slave" and "submissive" are defined by relationships, just like "husband" or "wife".  But the term "obedient" is defined by actions which are done, specifically by complying with orders and rules.  It strikes me as depersonalized.

In this case I goofted...the journal entry is from 2007. Some time between then and now he started feeling the need for a term all his own....which remains undefined.

ETA: OP I just had a thought. Since here on CM there is no option for "obedient" how are you going to search for what you want?

that word doesn't appear in my profile, so no dings this way. what about you? [;)]

Yep.. but considering all the other limitations he has imposed on himself regarding who is fake, and/or obedient, and looking I think that is ok.  He isn't going to write to people.  He is creating his own catagory for which no one else can join because CM doesn't have that catagory, therefore no one can seek him out either.  I dont think you can get more depersonalized than finding no one.

there are different types of relationships

osf -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 5:49:10 PM)

what thread have you been reading?

daintydimples -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 6:01:36 PM)

I consider my bottom half to be a sub with slavish bedroom tendencies. I can be very obedient, I can be very naughty, I can be a major pan in the ass. I never thought I needed to coin a special word for it. . . .

osf -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 6:05:59 PM)

you've just used several words that at one time were coined to discribe what you are saying

Agreed, it is depersonalization.

osf -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 7:51:56 PM)

it's called objectification and is a rather common thing in d/s relationships

BeIgnited -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 8:17:39 PM)

But this kind of objectification isn't occurring within the context of a D/s relationship, it's occurring before the relationship even gets started.

oh i get it!

this is the pc twist on those "hello cunt" greetings. i suppose substituting obedient rather than utilizing girl/slave/bitch would be a tad more original. [;)]

and here i thought it was being honest about where i want the relationship to go

osf -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 8:35:11 PM)

how the hell did you get that out of anything that has been said?

DarkSteven -> RE: Coining new phrase about what I want (10/19/2009 8:36:54 PM)

osf, are you the same person as cillydom?  I'm getting confused.

it could be sincere or it could be a gimmick that prompts additional conversation for discussion of what your term implies. it would be wrong of me to conceive that you would create a word to amplify your chances of having meaningful dialogue with potential prospects. nothing of this nature would ever occur.

it's that the terms submissive and slave have become so meaningless.

i think we can all agree what obedience is. you either are obedient or your not.

i'll let others debate the finer differences between sub/slave

while at first I was thinking Great another fucked up meanings thread, you did make me go... hmmm. that is simpler. And No annoying connotations of ownership vs servitude versus all the other crap that made me think great another fucked up meanings thread.

Still.. Just more words, to clutter and divert what I am. I am HerLord> That is what I do. That is How I do. Any other words are no more than just more words. After the BEING of what I am, EVERY THING else doesn't matter.
