I am actucally on OkCupid. I don't really see the goals at that much different really. And there is an "alternative lifestyles" section. However, I will say that generally speaking, I find the people on OKC forums to be rather young and impatient but every now and then there is an ace over there worth chatting up a bit.
But, yes, as with the other folks, I find the instant gratification whim to be rather unrealistic. Life and anything worthwhile requires patience and work.
Have you ever watched Friends? Rachel and Ross get together, break up, get together, break up. It's as if they wanted nothing if they couldn't have the "perfect" everything. I tend to see that in younger people (heck I probably WAS the same way when I was younger). It all comes out in time. Not all of them of course. and btw - What ever happened to Mad Rabbit? That guy had some serious brains, mojo, and domliness in one so young.
To the OP:
May you have what you want and want what you have. If you are willing to look at your expectations, and perhaps let go of them and see what the universe might be willing to give you, work hard, find people who seem interesting and that you resonate with, you might just find a gift. My bet is that this expectation mindset is something that you take with you elsewhere.
And I don't think your profile is so bad. I didn't click the link or do the control whatever thingy. But what I saw wasn't so bad.
