I remember going to the beach at coney island NY and making a collection of the different sized plastic cups that my grandmother and her friends would use. I used them as molds, so I had cooler sand castles than any of the other kids.

I remember my grandmothers best friend Louie used t smoke cigars and he would save the paper rings from them. Every Sunday we would have a sand castle contest for Louie and he would give the winner a ring. It was a prized possession, and Louie's wife Lilly would bake the winner cookies on Monday. Funny thing was, we always won in circles. There were 5 of us "competeing" and we each won and then someone would win again and restart the cycle.

Did you ever get to see Zozobra Fest in Santa Fe?????

(I told Neil about it, even HE was jealous!!!!)

Never even heard of it... My folks divorced during the time Dad was stationed there, and Mom and I moved to Philly.  I was about 5ish, I think.

It snowed here, and I started to remember back when I was just a wee one, and had a huge drift in our back yard, and I built a tunnel in it, and places to pop up, made a grand snow fort.  It was after a hue blizzard that had everyone snowed in, the whole town was shut down for 2 days because no one could get out, except from their upstairs windows.

8-tracks. You get midway through a song, then it starts to fade away.............. ca-CLICK...........silence.........then it'd begin to play again.

Going to Mrs Carter's grocery store to buy comic books. They'd be on spinner racks.... squeaking and squealing as you spun them around, trying to find an Avengers drawn by John Byrne or George Perez.

Watching the Dallas Cowboys, and knowing that more likely than not, they were going to beat the shit out of whoever they were playing that week. Roger Staubach, Bob Lily, Lee Roy Jordan, Calvin Hill, all led by Tom Landry.

Devouring Marathon Bars.
