I refuse to get flue shots, I don't trust them since every single year my mom gets her flue shot faithfully and every single year she's sick, and not just a sniffle and a sneeze the whole 9 yards, puke bucket by the bedside looking like death warmed over, barely able to function feel like a heard of stampeeding rhino's ran your ass over then came back for a second trip, just for good measure.

While I , who never get the flue shot am never sick unless my bf has a cold and brings it home, which has only happened once in our 4 year relationship.

I actually wanted to hear the article clip but the music that had been dubbed over it distorted any information you could of gotten from the clip. I can imagain how exhausting it is I am OCD and I am compelled to do certain things over and over and OVER when I just want to stop, like twirling my hair, I am not saying it's anywhere near as exhausting as her condition, but I do have some understanding.

Hilarious, indeed. I also love to laugh at legless veterans in wheelchairs, abused children and animals that get set on fire. But then, I'm an immature idiot without a developed sense of humor who thinks that the real miseries of other are good for chuckles. Funny only until it happens to somone you love. For all of you who think it's so giggle-worthy, imagine the person you love most in the world stricken with it and then a video of them set to music for the amusement of morons worldwide. That makes it even funnier!!!

Lets get something straight. Funny is a Concept. I don't think anyone thinks what is happening to this lady is funny, Hell maybe they do, they see something and it makes them laugh. It made me laugh. I know I am far from a Huge Douche (Again that is a Subjective Concept as well) the Video made it funny. Whatever is afflicting her is a horrible thing but the video which may be in bad taste was comical in the way it was done.

Know what else I find funny?

Black Jokes.
Blonde Joke.
Mexican Jokes.
Polock Jokes.
Dead Baby Jokes.
Jokes about how White people Talk told by black people.
Men getting hit in the Nuts.
Fart Jokes.
Feminist Jokes.
Redneck Jokes.
I laugh when someone else is getting arrested.
I laugh when someone accidently Blows themselves up.
I laugh when someone falls down.
I laugh when someone else is Embarassed.
I laugh when someone is Drunk and Stupid and gets hurt.

I know EVERYONE who has commented here has laughed at at least one of the above so I ask you....

Is Racism Funny?
Are the Blissfully Uneducated due to Financial Squallor Funny?
Is Alcoholism Funny?
Is Testicular Reconstruction Funny?
Is Sterility Funny?
Is Social Hirearchal Discrimination Funny?
Is Gender Bias Funny?
Is Death, Cheating, Violence, or Hate FUNNY?

Guess what is some situations ALL OF THE ABOVE CAN BE!

Who the fuck is anyone to tell someone something they found funny makes them a bad person.

EXACTLY, if you don't like something someone else thinks is funny remember that the next time you find something funny and no one else understands why.

If I remember correctly you often find women who put their husband down and emasculate them funny, at least you tend to give them the 5 smiley faces.

Is Gender Emasculation and Sexual Inadequacy Funny to you Holly? Cause you know there are Men who blow their brains out because they think they are sexually inadequate.

Here is why I find this offensive and not funny, probably not for the reasons most others are upset.

1. It's specific. This woman is named in the news article and then made fun of. She's targeted out specifically. We're not talking a dead baby joke, (Q: Which is easier to unload, a truck full of bowling balls or a truck full of dead babies. A: You can't use a pitchfork on bowling balls) it's going to your friend who lost his child and telling him dead baby jokes using the kids name. She's being singled out for humiliation.

2. Consent. I find forced sex fantasy stimulating. I find rape abhorrent. The issue is consent. I doubt this woman gave anyone the right to make this humiliating video about her. In fact I think only the anonymity if the internet allow the creator to make this without worrying about her brother/father/whomever coming over and pounding his face in. It's taking advantage of someone who cannot defend themselves and then calling it freedom of speech. freedom of expression does not make it right. If you would stand in the same room with this woman and while watching her cross the room crank up this song, point and laugh, then you are a bad person. If you would not do this then laughing about it when she's not there is just about as bad.

I have more than my share of racist, sexist, pedophiliac, necrophelia, and so on jokes. I share many of them with my friends who appreciate that style of humor. I try to steer them clear of public forums (except for the above example) so as to avoid offending those who do not share this sense of humor. The poster probably wanted to see this all blow up to read the arguments that most certainly would follow (and did). If it made you chuckle that does not make you a bad person, just as donating to charity does not make you good, but the chuckle is a mark against.

If this movie was made by the girl in question I would applaud her strength in adversity and probably get a laugh with her. But I REFUSE to laugh AT her and do think anyone who does is a bad person. So there it is.

My point was that it's very easy for people on the Internet to be insensitive because the Internet is a very impersonal place. With a youtube video like this, a lot of people see content, not another human being. With some people insensitivity is practically an art form... ("Did he drop any loot?")

Now for all of you making points about "You wouldn't think it's funny if it was your daughter / sister / whatever." Well... no you wouldn't because then it would be personal instead of a silly youtube video that you watch and forget about 5 minutes later... but isn't that kind of an obvious point to make?

I really don't see what about that point is hard to understand... though apparently having an understanding of human nature and the effect of anonymity makes me a bad person somehow. I'd be quite interested to hear why you feel like my commentary on Internet behavior isn't valid, but if you want to get personal I can do that too.

I chuckled at the part where the reporter was running beside her, still interviewing her. Ludicrous situations make me laugh, as do ones where laughter isn't expected. Always been that way.

Having said that, I certainly feel for the young woman, and if I were there, in her life, would bend over backwards to help her any way I could.

Laughter is laughter, get it over with, and move on with empathy and kindness. I don't see them as being exclusive.

And it's attitudes such as yours that perpetuates those "Silly you tube videos" until someone gets another brainstorm at someone elses expense.I'm one of those people that doesn't have to wait for it to land in my back yard before it offends me.And that's what I meant about you not getting it .

So you have your opinion and I still have mine,and that's all well and good,but maybe just maybe after seeing the video and reading this discussion others will stop and think maybe it isn't as funny or as harmless as they first thought and begin to see it for what it truly is. Have a nice day!
