It's a choice, not a medical reason. Use a condom, pull out, whatever you like. The reason it is prescribed by doctors is such that someone doesn't do something stupid with them. Just like other drugs. Again, I reiterate, sex is a choice, needing antibiotics is not.

Men dont take viagra simply because their prostate is enlarged... there are many reasons why a man cant get it up anymore.

And, please, after years of men telling women to take responsibility for the children after they walk away, you expect a woman to allow a man to decide what mathod she can use to NOT get pregnant?

Indeed, it can also be a neurological issue in which Viagra can help. Men aren't deciding. They (they being insurance companies) are saying they are not going to pay for woman's contraceptives such that they can go out and have sex, just like how they don't pay for man's contraceptives to go out and have sex. You're trying to make this a sex issue and being sexist in the process. Good job.

If they are willing to pay for the man's choice to get a chemical hard on, they should pay for a woman to not have to worry about the end result.  15-30 a month is alot cheaper than a delivery.  or the viagra.

They often do - it's called a condom. Or better yet, in this world where women are equal to men they should pay for their own contraception or keep their legs closed in which case men wouldn't need Viagra except for rape which is by many an acceptable reason for an abortion and would justify their desire for a chastity belt.

A man takes care of his part and pays for the insurance as well as the co-pay. A woman can take care of her part and pay for The Pill and get a daily dose of Vitamin C as well.

regardless of your stance on viagra, women are being selected for this abuse.  no amount of your arguing will disuade anyone here from that opinion.

And, um, explain, if you will, since something someone else pointed out nudged this question from me... since when is having an orgasm a medical necessity?

It isn't. However, erection of the penis often is. Erection does not guarantee orgasm. Now please, comprehend what has been said - stop 'just reading it'.

tazzygirl -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 8:45:07 PM)

WOW, speak of being incredibly sexist!  A woman also pays her co-pay... amazing info, huh.  And more and more insurance companies are finally paying for BC pills, thankfully.  And, personally, i dont find O'Reilly a medical reference to be taken seriously.

As far as the other question, its a known medical necessity for women to have an orgasm.. not for men.

Now, plug that between your legs and hump your way into viagra oblivion.

It is actually a great for of contraception, the problem is that most males have already placed a spurt or two of semen in the direction of the waiting egg without realizing it. I.E. pulling out too late (or not at all).

I'm pretty sure even most teenagers these days know "pulling out" is not an effective means of contraception.

Like what?

The doctor makes him sit in front of a porn video and observes him to make sure he doesn't get hard?

meshanjale -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 8:50:10 PM)

ahh but Your wrong...  what about those who have a child with trisomy 18, a third chromsone of the 18th allel that can kill the mother during child birth and the bairn is lucky to survive in the whomb and if they do never do they make it to their first birthday and are in agony, i know here in canada alberta they will do an abortion in that case right up to delivery day because of how bad it is. and there are many other medical reasons that make it needed and this goes and violates their privacy and already makes a hard as hell choice even harder as they have to think do i want the world to know or be able to figure out who i am, do i want my neighbors to think i am a child killer and what about victoms of rape... the list goes on... hell i am canadian and i am outraged about this this is just wrong and against.... is it HIPPA there.... i am assuming its the same as what we call FOIP here (Freedom Of Information and Privacy Act).

But this is just my two cents and i could go on. To me there is nothing more sacred then a child's life but there are many reasons to get an abortion... if they have to make a site do it on the ones who use it as birth control, i think i read some were about one woman getting 15 in 16 years... do it on her, not on these babys who have no other choice, who messed up, may have had peer pressure, or on the woman who couldnt afford to have a child but knew they couldnt do the adoption thing, or have medical reasons like trisomy 18. Think about that before saying that Abortion isnt done to save a life, there are many cases it was done to do exactly that.

problem is, once you open the door and allow them to use it for one thing, they will widen the door for others.

I have just checked all my medical sources, because, sometimes, things can be updated.  And no where can i find that having an erection is a medical necessity, let alone having an orgasm.  Mind tossing me the link to where you found such information?

Sounds like they should prescribe vibrators then. Also, we're talking about erection, not orgasm. Get it right. Further, I am not speaking on O'Reilly's behalf and think the man is a retard at best. Furthermore. Understand the difference between contraception and something that isn't. Is that really such a hard concept to grasp? Once insurance pays for condoms and lets a person pick them up at the nearest pharmacy then I'll have no problem with them paying for The Pill.

It is a difficult means of contraception - not an ineffective one. But if you'd like to point towards the education system being effective I'd love to point you to the Japanese (their history) as well D.A.R.E. classes to disillusion you of that opinion. Again, couples trying for years - low (no) sperm count - no kid.

As to the other you figure it out.

Development of the human body - the penis. As I previously stated it requires erection to grow (develop) naturally. Are you now not even reading the posts? (I've already said this)

I said erection, not orgasm. Get it right - READ. Also, find it yourself - it may do you some good to alleviate your own confirmation bias.

Ya know... i do dabble in nursing... so anatomy and physiology arent foreign to me.  I cant seem to jog my memory on this issue though.  Even a search of webMD comes up empty.

I hate when my quotes come up wrong.  I hate it even more when someone wants to argue a false medical point and cant come up with the backup, so they whine... find it yourself.

zenny -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 9:21:19 PM)

Yes, because the internet is infallible and can take the place of doctors and human biology classes. Do you think that the penis size (both erect and non)that a boy has at the onset of puberty is the same afterwords? I wonder what changes, what happens, and how this piece of the body grows as it does in normal males... Hmm.. But I said normal.. what of abnormalities? Answer those questions and you should be able to understand this single facet.

But I cannot tarry any more as I have dishes and laundry to finish.

tazzygirl -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 9:28:55 PM)

Oh i understand completely.  I also understand that its part of human anatomy to lose the ability to gain an erection, so its not paramount that it occur at all.

Copulation was, originally, for enlarging the species.  Somewhere along the line, adults realized it felt good too.  Now you wish to sit there all pompous and tell me that men can fuck all they wish, and we women must sit at home all meek and mild.

Not gonna happen, not by a long shot.  My body is my own.  No government agency will tell me what to do with it.  Damn sure no man will either, unless i give him that right.

As far as your notion of telling us to "close our legs", thats extremely sexist, in anyone's book.  what i do with my legs is none of your business, nor anyone elses.

For further information, to update your neanderthal ideas, BC pills are also used as hormonal replacement therapies.  And women, depending on the insurance company, have to jump through hoops to get, while men wander into an office, whine about not getting it up anymore, and slip back out with a prescription, one the insurance companies happily pay for.  Which, of course, such companies are run by men.

Nooooooooooooooooo of course there is no sexism in any of this.  And all the women here have had immaculate conceptions.

Womanly JOB? It's somehow our responsibility alone, because men are unable to keep their cock in their pants unless we say no? LMAO!!!!!! BTW, nice attempt at a red herring at the end there.
