"Black" and "white" are racial designations.

If that's the case...where does Human race fit into all this?

devilishpixie -> RE: Why not "Black" instead of "African Ameriican"? (10/28/2009 2:04:50 PM)

Ron,
Perhaps I am limiting myself in my perferences but that is not different than someone prefering blonds or a person with blue eyes or even someone within a certain age range.

mnottertail -> RE: Why not "Black" instead of "African Ameriican"? (10/28/2009 2:08:08 PM)

agreed, and I am only teasing you.

Ron

devilishpixie -> RE: Why not "Black" instead of "African Ameriican"? (10/28/2009 2:10:15 PM)

Ron,
Oddly enough I do get alot of flack from people because I only date black men, typically it is black women who are the most vocal about it.

mnottertail -> RE: Why not "Black" instead of "African Ameriican"? (10/28/2009 2:16:32 PM)

Yeah, having dated within the black community myself......black on black for peer pressures, social permissions, or crime is the roughest out there.

but thats not what this thread is about. although I would like to see it discussed, amongst other topics that should be of interest to folks of colour out here, as well as the translucents.

Its about America having two 'i' s as in: Ameriican.......or am I missing a memo here?

Ron

devilishpixie -> RE: Why not "Black" instead of "African Ameriican"? (10/28/2009 2:19:26 PM)

I by no means meant to the derail the thread but since the comment was put out there about racial preferences I felt obligated to give my imput. lol

Apparently, my ancestors would fuck anyone...but i still chose African-American rather than "Mixed". i just know as soon as i fuck around and pick one of my other options....reparations'll start getting passed out and i'll miss the damned boat.

Not taking ANY chances....

Perhaps they would.

Or perhaps, having at one point been property, anyone could fuck them.

Either way, don't hold your breath waitin' on reparations. Or those 40 acres and a mule.
You're assuming i'm only talking about my black ancestors....which is pretty short-sighted. Damn, now i know how Pres. Obama feels.....[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m23.gif[/image]

(Pssst....some shit is serious and some shit, just jokes. Too much seriousness may cause constipation.)

And finally,  may i say in an effort to bring about peace....having sucked enough cocks of varying hues, WE ARE ALL GOD"S CHILDREN!!!!  It's all pink inside....just sayin'

In my opinion people can have personal preferences regarding race, in regards to who they get involved with. Myself personally I only date black men. That doesn't make me racist, it is no different than me prefering a man with a bald head.

not at all. we all have our preferences. i know i do. [;)]

my BFF will only fuck guys with 9" or more....though in her weaker moments she'll let an 8 incher with flexibility have a chance....Does that make her a nineist?

of course. a girl has her moments of weakness and most compensate. she'll settle for the 8 when in need. how amusing.

Honestly, I have sat back and watched your responses, rather bemused. IMO, you did seem to come off as the end all and be all of black opinion. If you are one of the few blacks/African Americans/Negroes/people of color on here that post you owe the rest of us the courtesy of making it clear that you are stating your opinion, not everyone else's.

I personally believe the old saying, "What you call me is not as important as what I answer to."

As an aside, I honestly am lost as opposed to what point you were trying to make as it seemed as if you were all over the place in your various responses. If your general opinion, is the appropriateness of what you are called, depends on the situation, that's fine. That's all you really had to state.

Thanks Nubianmuscle.  i have sat on the sideline thinking many of the same thoughts as you expressed.

While i understand many of the opinions that Blackmaaaaaaan expressed, i didn't agree with all of them.

But that is the fundamental problem with this entire discussion.  It assumes that we all think alike.  We are all individuals with our own ideas and opinions.  Blacks/Negroes/colored people/African-Americans are not a part of some uni-mind.  We don't all think alike.  Our opinions are as varied as Whites/Caucasians/European-Americans.

Like most here, i have far more important things to worry about than what label someone addresses me by.  But to be clear, their attitude and intent is far more important than the label that they choose.

Now how do i go about reclaiming the 10 minutes it took me to read this thread?   ;-)
