Her yet-to-be published memoir has been slashed in price at amazon, from $28.99 down to $9.00 hardcover

Before this thing gets out of hand--oops, too late.....

Sorry folks, but this isn't a Palin issue. There's a price war going on in the publishing industry--started by Walmart, followed by Target and Amazon, just published best sellers are $8.98.

Lots of ramifications there, but none of them have anything to do with Palin (other than incidentally).

LOL Tim,

Do not quote NPR citations on a Political Thread they are the devil incarnate of the left wing liberals, and will not be accepted as truthful by neo-cons, so you cannot make your point with them, even though it might actually be fair and balanced, you take the conspiracy aspects away and make it well so--------- pedestrian.

The journalistic gossip is that it's a $7 million advance & that $1.25 mil was only a partial payment. & now that she's a private citizen her income is private as well, so we're just stuck speculating . . .. . Until (& if) she runs for office again . . .. . .

However, I have my doubts about how that's gonna work out for her given what I bolded, below:

quote:

NBC reported that Palin's publisher HarperCollins has ordered an initial print run of 1.5 million books, the same amount as for late Senator Edward Kennedy's just-released memoirs.

~~also in that article about the book.... just cus it made me laugh~~

Palin has a chapter on how exorcisms have helped, on her walk with God. Palin say's she has been exorcised of 12 witches and 21 evil spirits.

The title "Going Rogue," a pejorative term, referred to allegations that while she was running mate to Republican presidential candidate John McCain, Palin was also loose cannon surreptitiously plotting her own political ascent, including a possible 2012 White House run.

Palins book covers a wide range of topics, like the benefits of witch exorcisms, cooking moose testicles, and how to keep your teen from getting pregnant.

In addition to all the other faux pas she seems to be a magnificent generator of . . . . .

Seriously, folks, I'm almost willing to take bets that Sarah never runs for another public office & goes the way of Rush, Beck, Coulter, & etc. The money's better, the privacy's way better, & being a whack-job is a plus in entertainment -- not so much so in politics.

All of the sales up to this point are pre-orders from teabaggers anyway. It's doubtful that the book will make that big of a splash once it's actually out on the shelves... it's sort of the "Transformers 2" of the book publishing industry. It'll have a solid first week or two, then the remainders will be shipped to the pulping industry to be turned into blown-in-insulation, making houses greener. (Probably the best use of paper that could be made of such tripe.)

Does she say how many witches and evil spirits still need to be exorcised before she's back to normal?

tazzygirl -> RE: Palin book now located in the bargain bin (10/31/2009 2:53:58 PM)

lol Panda... no clue... im sure one of them made her quit though.  In all seriousness, i dont understand what would motivate her, politically, to write something so.... usefull... against her.

Well, she's an idiot. And mentally ill as well, obviously. She's crafty and has a certain degree of political cunning, but time and again she's shown she's as thick as two short planks.

Funny as hell watching her work the conservative pod people up into a frenzy though, I'll give her that.

Call me a cynic if you like.....but the search for motivation need go no further than that sizable advance.
