Do you find the same regulars popping up despite your topic choice to offer snide remarks and off  topic jabs while patting one another on the rump roast.

yes i do, and to be honest, its nothing short of bullying, they all seem to know each other, so if you please to disagree, prepare for a roasting! i dont reckon any one the ones who are so vocal, actually know  as much as they proclaim, but sure, who is to even attempt to disagree when there's 20 snarks and ne'er do wells willing to shoot you down with their "pc" comments; makes me laugh. pc in this realm. ...... lurks

Thank you for stepping forward and being honest.

lol

I'm here for the snark as much as anything else . . . . .

The conversations on FetLife can be much more on topic (depending on the group) than they are here, & there can be significantly less snippy, bitchy, larky, etc off-topicality there, too . . . . . Perhaps adding that to your options would enhance your satisfaction, OP . . .. .

I prefer the CM message boards precisely because I found a place in this 'community' in under 6 months, & I find all the goofin' around, bitchiness, flame wars, & etc to be entertaining, even edifying . . . . . .

How does that quote go, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" ?

NihilusZero -> RE: Being new does not give other the right to be snide agree or disagree. (10/28/2009 11:34:55 PM)

Everyone either started here with a disposition sensible and direct enough to avoid such reactions or took their licks and made friends because of how their disposition changed.

I grew up as the most unpopular kid in elementary and middle school and I'm still not in favor of 'popularity affirmative action'.

blacklion,
There are alot of regulars on this forums who have been around along time. There are more one one clique on these forums. People who have interacted here as well in a real life sense. Many of which are very vocal on posts. The reality is when you make a thread anyone can respond, it is after all a "public forum" . I have been here along time and at times even I step back and tell myself to grow thicker skin, you have to here. Because there are so many people who come from different places with different motives and different ways of communication. I also remember that I can't control others responses or reactions only how I put myself out there. So if you come at people with a snarky superior attitude dont be suprised when you get that in return.

This is not about me.It does not matter to me one tiny bit what anyone thinks of me on here. This has been noted by those addressing me as some sort of troll and a moderator having a duck , cow and other farm animals on me in ref. to some of my come backs...for those of you confused. I am the voice for those afraid to post an opinion for fear that they may be and with good reason attacked for going against the grain....I have taken it upon myself to stand up for those who are lurking wanting to  join in  but will not as they are in fear of the pit bulls  with no teeth biting them. I know they are out there as they contact me. So take your shots at me if you feel a need I am fine with it. My point here is  wen you get any number of people  familiar with one another they become more bold and more aggressive where they would not alone...safety in numbers...Happy to have cleared that up for everyone. I am quite capable of holding my own on a internet msg board. to those timid ones out there I am still at bat for you here.

Are you serious?
The are the voice for the lurkers?

blacklion -> RE: Being new does not give other the right to be snide agree or disagree. (10/29/2009 12:05:21 AM)

Lurkers yes that is what I said bravo for being able to read now my term of lurkers and yours I assume differ thus I pointed out my version being those afraid to join in rather than whatever your version is. sad simply sad...rather than Wow simply Wow..as everyone should be able to join in without feeling they will be gummed to death...not everyone is as strong willed as so many of you pretend to be. again this is simply my opinion...you are up.

Why did you edit WOW simply WOW? To telling?

Since I'm lacking the white-knight-eaten-by-dragon emoticon that would be so useful at times like these . . ..

And who elected you the voice of the thousands of lurkers on this site? I must of misssed that election. I know several people who lurk,, my owner included. Who would laugh at the idea of you being THEIR voice.

I do agree with you those that wish to join in a public internet forum should do just that. I do find it amusing that someone would be "scared" to post on a forum such as this. What is truly the worst thing to happen, are they really in any real danger of being hurt physically, mentally or emotionally? If they are hurt by what an anonymous person says online perhaps they should walk away form their computer.

Why does your font keep getting bigger and thicker. Overcompensation perhaps?

That's strange. Most of the people I talk with regularly (myself included) happen to go against the "grain" on topics more often than not.

You're going to have to be more specific, perhaps to a case-by-case basis because, if you are genuinely concerned about people getting jumped on, you need to understand when something is just superficial hazing (which doesn't happen too often) or when it's something much more complex.

(Edit: Okay, maybe not much more complex, but at least a little more...)

If someone comes on here.. posts an inane question (that can almost always be answered by doing a search..or god forbid!! a google search).. and gets their wittle feewings hurt, then they need to get a thicker skin.  Life aint cheesecake and wine...  deal or hide from the fact that not everything is unicorns and rainbows.  Personally, I prefer people that understand that life is REAL.

I feel kind of inadequate, now, to have provided you a extended library of smileys, none of which were useful to you for this purpose. [:(]
