Breitbart video here

And here

quote:

Obama: Pelosi Will Go Down As One Of "Greatest Speakers Of All Time"

PRESIDENT OBAMA: "First of all, I don't think people quite understand, Nancy Pelosi is not simply the first woman Speaker of the House -- I think she's going to go down as one of the greatest Speakers of all time. And she's very nice and she's very friendly, but, boy, she is tough."

She doesn't want to answer any questions , like, How can a new bill costing 900 billion dollars not add to the deficit ?

Just like Pelosi, it won't be long until Obama quits taking questions from the minor news channels, and not just the big one.

Sorta like Bush did to that New York paper, as you argued so effectively out of the other side of your mouth, not many threads past.

I have to correct my previous post. The CBO now puts the cost at just over 1 trillion. But who really cares about another 100 billion or so.

Letter from the CBO

October 29, 2009

Estimated Budgetary Impact of H.R. 3962
According to CBO and JCT’s assessment, enacting H.R. 3962 would result
in a net reduction in federal budget deficits of $104 billion over the 2010–
2019 period (see Table 1). In the subsequent decade, the collective effect of
its provisions would probably be slight reductions in federal budget
deficits. Those estimates are all subject to substantial uncertainty.
The estimate includes a projected net cost of $894 billion over 10 years for
the proposed expansions in insurance coverage. That net cost itself reflects
a gross total of $1,055 billion in subsidies provided through the exchanges
(and related spending), increased net outlays for Medicaid and the
Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and tax credits for small
employers; those costs are partly offset by $167 billion in collections of
penalties paid by individuals and employers. On balance, other effects on
revenues and outlays associated with the coverage provisions add $6 billion
to their total cost.
Over the 2010–2019 period, the net cost of the coverage expansions would
be more than offset by the combination of other spending changes, which
CBO estimates would save $426 billion, and receipts resulting from the
income tax surcharge on high-income individuals and other provisions,
which JCT and CBO estimate would increase federal revenues by
$572 billion over that period.

When I read that, I see an awful lot of "ifs".. The first thing to jump out to me. 167 billion in taxes and penalties for small business. What a great thing to do when unemployment is nearing 10 % and holding steady.

That bill is a house of cards. I don't want any part of a government takeover of 1/6 th. of our economy in any form.

IF those who had control of that 1/6th had actually taken care of it, we wouldnt be having this discussion at all.

The blame doesnt fall totally on the government.   The insurance companies have more than enough.

Yet, thinking back to my business days, doesnt the free market place supports take overs of companies that cannot compete?

If you read the letter from the CBO you might get a pretty good idea of whats it the bill, considering the letter is 27 pages long and talks about different aspects of the proposal.

Then again, that requires an effort that most on the boards havent bothered to put out yet.  Just easier to whine.... they wont let me see it.

How precisely is this a takeover? Which hospitals will be taken over by the government? Which doctor's will be on the government payroll?

The bill unveiled today is mostly regulation of the health insurance industry. Stuff like forbidding treating domestic violence as a pre existing condition and keeping insurance companies from canceling policies due to innocent errors on applications and other paperwork.

The insurance industry can, if what right wingers claim is true, produce plans that provide better services for less money than the public option plan would and therefore no one would ever sign up for it.

I believe that the House bill has 2000 pages in it. Not one republican or anyone else except the few who wrote it has had access to it.

The Democratic leadership is working to post the text of the final bill online early next week and has agreed to give members 72 hours to read it before a vote. Under that timetable, the House would begin debating the bill at the end of next week.

Any bill passed by the House of Representatives will eventually have to be merged with legislation passed by the Senate. Both chambers would then have to pass a revised measure before sending it to President Barack Obama to be signed into law.

Guess your find out next week.

Luckily your belief has nothing to do with reality.
