I need some advice. I am planning a romantic picnic for my master and myself tomorrow. We are going into the Susquanna State Park. I am making chicken, fresh strawberries, potatoe salad, home made biscuits and brownies. I have delima though. I dont know what to pack to drink.

He doesn't drink soda often and I have never seen him drink alchohol at all. Although I do have a bottle of wine I was thinking of packing. So which do you think would be better for a romantic lunch?

I voted wine.  DB also does not drink, but you can also pack bottled water if he chooses to drink that.  There's just something nice about pretty wine glasses and a bottle of something nice that does the "romance" thing for me.

I agree with pure.

Besides, if the sparks get to kicking, neither of you will be too worried about what to drink

I think iced tea sounds good with the menu you have planned.  Maybe you can find some pretty plastic glasses to take along to add a little "romance" to the tea.  I've seen plastic wine glasses and champagne glasses in packages at the grocery store.  The stems just snap on.  Or, if you have some Sharpie markers, you could draw some hearts and flowers or whatever on some plain plastic glasses.  (The Sharpies that are permanent so it doesn't rub off from the moisture.)

Or, if you have time and resources and want to get really crazy, make some heart-shaped ice cubes???

Here ya go!  Obviously you won't have time to make them for tomorrow, but at least they're available for future picnics.

While the wine is the more romantic sounding, it does lead to the question of who drives back.  Unless the picnic lasts for several hours, there could be that little alcohol in the system while driving issue.

So, coke, by default.

Normally I'd say wine but then if you're hoping to be alone and play that isn't such a good idea. Plus he has to drive home afterwards. If you've never seen him take a drink, he may well not drink at all so don't present him with alcohol until you've asked about it.

If you have enough strawberries, freeze them into the ice cube trays, or halves if that fits better. Fill and freeze about a third of the way, then berries and rest of water. Or orange slices. And use them in a thermos to float in the bottled water. But even with water, get the plastic wine glasses just because they're prettier. Here's hoping you have good weather.

OK, so you drink the wine (a little goes a long way), he drinks the non-alcoholic beverage (both can be served in pretty glasses as mentioned by several), that way he can drive you all back home.

EDIT:  I like Celeste's idea better.  Do that.  *giggles*

If you use the plastic 2 pc. wine glasses, just make sure your bottom doesn't have a crack in it.  Ask Red about her cracked bottom at Greedy's wedding reception.

edited for clarification

Red, do you remember almost having a lapful of champagne because your bottom kept falling off because of the crack in it?

MAY I suggest a non-alochol POMEGRANITE MOJITA MIX..??
**Pomegranite juice...mmm
**lime juice( 2 tsps.to a qt juice)
crushed mint leaves...if you cannot get a few fres to roll and crush..then jsut leave them out)
ice..

pack in a quart sealer or pour into an empty soda bottle..
but serve in interesting glasses...maybe platic wild colored "wine glasses"

ALSO a mix of iced tea and SUN-KIST apple-lime juice is delicious
