Puts on my bar owner hat for 2 mins.

For every measure (uk) of alchohol you drink. it takes an hour after you stop drinking for it to leave system. (a pint of lager/beer takes 2 hours to get rid of)

So if anyone has to drive after, dont.

non alcoholic wine, bottled water is great. fancy glasses keep the romantic feel. who says the only time to use champagne glasses is with champagne. an added strawberry, if you can get them can lead anywhere. grins.

Red, do you remember almost having a lapful of champagne because your bottom kept falling off because of the crack in it?

LOL, oh yes!  hehehe.....

Good thing Thing 2 wasn't there.  I could just hear it, "Look, my mom's bottom has a crack in it!"

sorry I haven't read the replies - and this wasn't a category.... what about some sparkling apple juice or one of the nice italian sparkling mineral waters, they would still be yummy when drunk from classy wine or champagne glasses

I need some advice. I am planning a romantic picnic for my master and myself tomorrow. We are going into the Susquanna State Park. I am making chicken, fresh strawberries, potatoe salad, home made biscuits and brownies. I have delima though. I dont know what to pack to drink.

He doesn't drink soda often and I have never seen him drink alchohol at all. Although I do have a bottle of wine I was thinking of packing. So which do you think would be better for a romantic lunch?

devil,

i'm a wine girl so i have an admitted bias. since he doesn't drink often you can start keeping a bottle of prosecco at home. it is a sparkling italian beverage, similar to champagne but the alcohol content is lower. you can add a little puree to it to make it fruity as well. peach is commonly done and is referred to as a bellini. but you can experiment as well. i find things of this nature usually work nicely for people that aren't huge alcohol fans. you should also include his favorite beverage as well. that way the wine can add the finishing touch instead. enjoy!

I'm not sure I'd pack a sparkling anything if they have any kind of a hike. Don't want to create a fountain when you open it.

Never assume someone drinks. Many don't. Respect that and leave it alone.

I like the sparkling apple cider idea.  or you could get some 7up or Sprite and put a little Grenadine in it to make it all purty.
