Panda you and RML are arguing that because an anonomous old man has that slogan, it represents the leadership of the movement, right??

that it is proper for news anchors to snicker and insult the movement, because an old man has a pin.

that a few protestors said something, it represents the movement and has some sort of relevance right?

Or are you arguing something else?

If something else please explain

What is being argued is that the tea party movement called themselves teabaggers initially, ignorant of the meaning of the term, and the networks only reported it.

You want to portray it as one old man, but it was not.

As I said before he did not make that badge himself, nor was there only one sign or one person that referred to themselves as that.

Then when they got laughed at suddenly it was not the teabaggers themselves who had used that expression but another example of liberal media bias.

That's what I keep saying, but it's just not getting anywhere. You put it more concisely than I've been doing, but this is my answer to his question as well.

Now here is a real test of your character RML. The tea parties and the media coverage of tehm was introduced to the thread on page 3 post 50, and not by me.

how do you respond to being shown wrong? the silent readers are watching

My mistake, but an irrelevant point since you have been the most vocal in defense of them.

Brain -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 5:00:05 PM)

I am a little surprised Fox won but I'm not surprised they won by default because other networks were so pro-Obama. How could they not be pro-Obama when the Republican Party has no moderates left. Sure they have some token people but the truth is the extremists (Teabaggers) run the party. It has become a party run by Dick Armey conservative extremists as seen by the recent election of a Democrat in New York State and not Mr. Hoffman.

CMPA analysis Finds FOX News Was the Most Fair and Balanced

The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University examined network news coverage both during last years election and after President Obama took office. They found FOX News was the most fair and Balanced. The only reason FOX gained this distinction was the other networks were so pro-Obama.

The study included the elections. You couldnt get any more moderate Republican than McCain.

servantforuse -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 5:14:31 PM)

Balanced or not, Bill O'Reilly's show as been the number 1 rated cable show for 9 years running.

Brain -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 5:22:10 PM)

I'm sorry but John is a nothing or nobody in your party compared to Sarah. The truth is after he became elected leader there was no enthusiasm to work for the man. I remember Anne Coulter saying if John McCain won the nomination she would vote for Hillary.

On a different subject I just heard Lawrence O'Donnell talking with Tom Harkin and Chuck Schumer say there will be a vote on Saturday and the Democrats will get the 60 votes for the healthcare bill so I guess there is nothing Republicans can do but cry about it.

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck in 2012? I just heard that on the Countdown

servantforuse -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 5:30:50 PM)

I'll bet you $20 to your favorite charity that they will not have 60 votes by Saturday.

Not so fast. They'll have 60 votes to get the debate started. That debate will take at least a couple of months--Republicans have already said they will do whatever they can to slow the bill, and there are a number of procedural things they can do. Assuming it eventually passes, it still has to be reconciled with the House bill.

luckydawg -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 5:42:32 PM)

actually panda, you and RMl have not shown a single leader of any Tea Party movement to have refered to them self that way.

You did find a picture of an old man.

Some how you think the "movement" speaks with one voice, which really is simply dumb. But you apperantly must believe it.

So you can pretend it is not bias to refer to them as "teabaggers" while snickering.

Someone made a few buttons, which can easily be done on a home computer, (which is the only evidence either of you provided, oh also a blog post), so to you that speaks for the "Movement" . Have I got that right.

Again, neither of you showed a leader saying that, nor was that what they called them selves, they called it aa "Tea Party".

I think the silent readers can see that you are not providing any sort of evidence to back up your assertion, so there is no need to continue beating this dead horse

No. No, you don't. We've explained that to you quite clearly a number of times, and you completely ignore it every time. There's no point in saying anything else for you to completely ignore. Go on thinking whatever you want to think if it makes you feel better. This whole discussion has been nothing but a waste of time and keystrokes.

luckydawg -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 6:39:32 PM)

Yes, as you have not provided a single example of a leader calling it that. Which everyone following the thread can plainly see.

Watching Lucky going around and round in ever decreasing  circles and in grave danger of disapearing up his  own arse is my entertainment for the evening

luckydawg -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 7:45:22 PM)

Of course a troll like Lucy comes in now, since neither Panda or RMl can give a single example to back up what they are saying.

Well, that's the part I don't get, LD. The biggest part, anyway. What difference does that make?

Example of what?

Musicmystery -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 8:44:00 PM)

Flash, perhaps?

luckydawg -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 9:22:40 PM)

Panda, I know you do not understand why you should provide a single example to back up your assertion. I guess it will just have to remain a mystery to the trolls.

luckydawg -> RE: Take the Fox Balance/Bias Challenge! (11/18/2009 9:24:09 PM)

MM not a single word about it being pointed out that you changed the terms of your challenge in the middle, in order to pretend you won it......I expected nothing else from you.

I'm completely bewildered by what it is I'm supposed to provide an example of. What assertion? The deeper into this we go, the less I understand what we're talking about. I don't even know where the disconnect is anymore. I usually find you quite easy to understand even when I don't agree with what you're saying, but in this case I'm just lost.
