I'm not a senoir sorry. But I just wanted to say with all my heart... (and all my tounge in my cheek)

"Help The Aged" by Pulp

Help the aged,
one time they were just like you,
drinking, smoking cigs and sniffing glue. Help the aged,
don't just put them in a home,
can't have much fun in there all on their own.

Give a hand, if you can,
try and help them to unwind.
Give them hope & give them comfort 'cos they're running out of time.

In the meantime we try.
Try to forget that nothing lasts forever.
No big deal so give us all a feel.
Funny how it all falls away.

When did you first realise?
It's time you took an older lover baby.

He'll Teach you stuff
although he's looking rough.
Funny how it all falls away.

Help the aged
'cos one day you'll be older too
- you might need someone who can
pull you through

Missokyst -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/3/2009 11:03:16 PM)

Wow.. timing is everything. I have a similar thread going on on Fet. As an older, experienced sub, I find both age and the years I have done this are a detriment to me. Doing this for years tends to equate with being over qualified (from mid 1970's). That is ok for a dominant.. not so for a sub. It is also inaccurate since years in the game does not mean engaging in bdsm every day. I had quite a long period of celibacy in between.

ARE YOU A SENIOR BDSMer??
How old are you?M..?s?D?
I'm sub, and I'm 51, going on 52 next month.
What had been your experience as a newbie? oldie?
It seems to me there are a lot of whackos out there and every so often I meet a good person, Someone "normal."
How long have you been in the life?
Just over one year.....I'm a late bloomer.
Any interesting age stories to share?
Nah, not really.   Maybe I haven't been around "the life" long enough.
Does age matter to you? your subs//D/s?
I just don't want to be Dominated by Someone my kids' age or younger.  That just seems weird to me.  Older than me doesn't matter.
IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..?
One the one hand I'd think age meant experience, but then look at me.  I'm "older" but I only have one year experience.  lol
anything you wish to add..?
Can't think of anything right now.

WyldHrt -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/4/2009 12:37:19 AM)

Hmmm... how old qualifies as a "senior"? Either way, I'll have a go [:D]

40 years old, female submissive
What had been your experience as a newbie? oldie?
It's been a blast so far for this old newbie.  [:)]
How long have you been in the life?
About a year and a half
Any interesting age stories to share?
Nope. I've met lots of folks in the lifestyle, both older and younger. Age is about the last thing that comes up in conversation... somewhere after politics, religion, favourite beers, and whether to go for pizza or sushi [8D]
Does age matter to you? your subs//D/s?
As I said on another thread, my preference is for a D 5-15 years older than I am and 6'2" or taller. Which means diddly squat, since Sir is 34 and maybe an inch taller than me when we are in bare feet, LOL
IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..?
An issue? It completely depends on the person. I know folks in their 20s who are more mature and in control of their lives than those twice their age, and I also know folks in their 50s- 60s who never grew up. In BDSM? I'll take experience over age. An asset? It can be, depending on the person.
anything you wish to add..?
Not really. Most of the folks I hang out with are my age or older, as that has been my preference since I was a kid. That said, there are folks of all ages that have taught me things, and earned my trust. For me, age is WAY down the list of what is important when it comes to getting to know people.

Define 'senior' - I will be 40 next birthday.

quote:

What had been your experience as a newbie? oldie?

It was all good.  Fucked up sometimes, just like people do.  Had a blast most of the time.  It's no different being me, older or younger.

quote:

How long have you been in the life?

I haven't been in 'the life' - I have lived since I was born.  Kissed my first boy and first girl by the age of 11, found I liked one better than the other.  Practised service from 14.  Practised BDSM from goodness knows what age - cannot remember I was too small.  Had sex when it was legal.

quote:

Any interesting age stories to share?

Only that it's a myth that BDSM was soooooo much better back in the day.  It's as good as you make it - at any age - in any era.

quote:

Does age matter to you? your subs//D/s?

I prefere to concentrate on the person and how they are, than age.

quote:

IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..?

It would be naive to say it isn't.  Of course age is an issue, just as much as being male or female, mono or poly, or what orientation you are.  We as people have to deal with discrimination of all forms everyday, age is no different.  If your under 30 your too immature.  If you are over 40 you are to be put out to pasture.  And if you are a 30something, why aren't you married/in a commited relationship or having children?  Meh - can't win whatever your age.

Cliffwalker -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/4/2009 2:35:24 AM)

Geez, you ask a lot of questions.

I'm senior, current (and long-term) slave is 12 years younger, and obviously no problems with the age difference.

Over the twelve years I've been involved, I've had age differences between 36 and 7 years. The 36 years difference was a second slave who was with me and my alpha 24/7 for nearly six months, but in the end I  released her because it wasn't fair for a highly sexed young critter to be stuck with someone my age, because despite my skills, my stamina was certainly compromised lol.

Age does matter to me, in that I far prefer much younger slaves. I think it's the mentor in me. Give me an intelligent, mature youngster (say under 40 lol), preferably not yet jaded by too much experience, and I'm in my element. I love taking that journey of discovery with them,.

yeah i'm old as shit.... but i wouldn't say i'm a "senior" bdms'er. Don't you actually have to HAVE some bdsm in your life to BE a bdms'er? LOL[;)]

Sweetsub you and i have some things in common:). I'm 58 and been in this for 3 years. Most of what you said I would say as well.

OP
I enjoy being a senior because I do have a lot of wisdom, but not in BDSM. This lifestyle has been and still is very confusing to me in many ways. Sometimes, i think will i ever get it right. The hardest part has been to switch out of the equal partner mindset into the submissive mindset. Many times i wonder about my sanity for entering this so late in age, yet i am still here.

It would be difficult for me to be with someone a lot younger then me in any type of relationship. It's a preferrance of mine, nothing more or less. Sir is 4 years older then me.

I'm 43 and identify as a switch

What had been your experience as a newbie? oldie?

Oh, I still very much consider myself new...I have so much to learn and I hope I never stop.  My experiences have been interesting...to say the least.

How long have you been in the life?

I'm not really "in the life" more like I'm living my life which happens to include D/s and some bdsm. I've been exploring this "life" for the past 3 years or so.  Before that, I didn't realize what I liked had a name.

Any interesting age stories to share?

Nope...can I get back to you on that?

Does age matter to you? your subs//D/s?

Maturity matters.  I've met some very mature 20 somethings and some very immature 50+.  I  find when I'm wanting to express my submissive side, I do better with men 10-15 years older. Contrariwise, when I'm expressing my dominant aspects I prefer men my age or younger...25-45.  In the end, though, it does come down to maturity which has litte to do with numbers.

My grandma had a saying that is great for this type of question..."Age is a decision not a number. Once you decide you're old the numbers just catch up."  She was a cheeky Lady who dyed her hair flame red and always had at least 2 gentlemen friends up until she died at a very well-lived 80 yrs of age.
IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..?

Age is an issue if people make it one.  I prefer to see my age as an asset...one that gains value as time goes by.

anything you wish to add..?

I'm not a senior BDSMer....more like a freshman.  The more I get out in the local kink community, the more I realize how not so unusual I am...many are late-bloomers.  I doubt I would have appreciated what I know now if I had know it in my 20's.

How old are you?M..?s?D?

55 year old switch

What had been your experience as a newbie? oldie?
How long have you been in the life?

I've been in the lifestyle for over 30 years, but have had long periods of celibacy and only 3 relationships with dominant males in that time (dom males being my primary relationship). I have a certain depth of experience, but lack breadth of experience.

Any interesting age stories to share?
Does age matter to you? your subs//D/s?
IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..?

I am interested in a dom who is at least close to my own age. My last dom was 12 years younger; but he had a lot of experience and maturity for his age.

My submissive is older, he's 60.

I get 5 times as many 25-35 year olds messaging me (I'm not sure why). I'm not interested in someone that much younger, mainly b/c I'm not into casual play and can not see myself sustaining a relationship with someone younger than my shoes.

anything you wish to add..?

To a certain extent I believe age is just a number. I don't think I look or act my age (I'm young at heart?). I do have some hard earned wisdom, however, wisdom that a 25 year old is just not going to have.  Being in a relationship with someone that young (dom or sub) would make me feel like their mother, and I'm not into that.

DesFIP -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/4/2009 3:56:40 AM)

I'm 54. I met him when I was brand new 8 years ago. This is my only bdsm relationship. Never even met anyone else.

I don't think there are any more nuts here than in your local bar. What there are, is people who don't know what they need in a partner and what they cannot be compatible with. If you don't know that people with more tatts than teeth make you go screaming into the night, then it's your fault if you meet such a person.

Figure out what you need before you go looking. You may not find the person of your dreams when you're looking for him/her. But I guarantee that if you don't know what you're looking for, you will not find it.

Warning to the elderly...

Today is Kick the Elderly day, with such feats performed by MOD XI. There is no place to hide.

*runs to the shopping center to get some hair color to cover her grays.*

This PSA minute brought to you by a 42 year old switch.

Yo soy el Senor EstebanOscuro.

ranja -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/4/2009 6:40:43 AM)

I'm 43 but usually i am not quite sure, i might be a year or two older or younger...
Now i'm over 40 and since about 2 years playing this game i feel a lot more relaxed and happy, BDSM brought an end to a decade of wasted time but i don't think i had the confidence to start this stuff earlier.

Any interesting age stories to share? I did have a sub 17 years my junior, never again would I be involved with that big of an age difference, for us it just did not work.

Does age matter to you? I prefer someone within 10 years of my own either way.
your subs//D/s? My current sub is 9 years younger than myself

IS age an issue? in BDSM..?an asset..? Some people prefer younger subs, I have noticed that many male Dom's wish to have younger subs. Personally as I stated above someone within 10 years of my own age works.

anything you wish to add..? Age is just a number it is the individual person that really should count. Although maturity does count for something and having things in common.

LaTigresse -> RE: Calling all BDSM "SENIORS"... (11/4/2009 6:48:47 AM)

At age 47 I do not yet qualify as a senior so I cannot answer any other questions....[:D]

Ask me in, approximately, 30 years.
