Truthfully, someone should form The Moderate Party. It would sweep the nation.

Third parties have, historically, been a non-starter in American politics. We've always had the same basic Liberal versus Conservative pardigm - we've just had different names for the parties.

Still, if there ever was a time in our history that would allow for a viable third party, it would be now. New communication technologies (the internet, twitter, etc.) allow a canadate to bypass the traditional media. I believe that a person who was socially Liberal (pro gay marriage, pro abortion rights) but fiscally Conservative (lower taxes, lower government spending), believed in a strong millitary but a non-interventionist foreign policy, could grab the moderates from both parties and forge a true alliance of the middle.

Not saying it will happen - but I do believe it could.

Personally, I see a possible Revolution that will come in to play, and it will be more like the French Revolution than anything else. But, that is of course only speculation and a personal opinion at best.

What do you think?

I think off with their heads.

Let their blood flow in the streets.

Let the Conservative Revolution begin!!!!!!!!!!

And here I have been looking forward to a bloody revolution by decent long-suffering citizens who eventually became tired of being used as cannon fodder and sucked dry of any monetary wealth by lewd greedy republican/conservatives not to mention being stripped of their civil rights.

Well i loved Michael Moore when he said that that the ballot on American missed something. A choice called "none of the above". I certainly remember the Bush / Kerry election. Maybe you guys would have had a vinner called Mr None of The Above.[:)]
Whenever an american tells me he is superior i do like to remind him where he certainly isn't. Electing Bush senior was a mistake. Electing his son shows you guys have the perfect ability to on occasion act as complete morons and reelecting him. Well i am just dumbfounded. I thought it was only the Italiens who did things like that. And at least Berlusconi scores a litle on entertainment value. Much you can say about the guy, but boring is not one of them[8D]

General comment-
What makes America a truly great nation is the vision of the Founding Fathes who had a deep understanding of, and hatred for, the religious and nationalistic triumphalism of the "USA #1" jingoism.

They had personal knowledge of the bitter and vicious religious wars between Catholic and Protestant, and England anf France; they had a vision of a nation that would be composed of citizens, where all were equal, and of a nation that was itself an equal citizen of the community of nations.

The idea that America would become an global Empire, straddling the world and toppling governments, building nations in its own image, and dictating to others how they should behave would have made Washington and Jefferson weep with rage.
