ORIGINAL: WhoreMods What can I say? I like dinosaurs. I've liked them since I was four or five, and I like them still. Natural history is a near inexhaustible source of entertainment and pleasure. (And, if I'm honest, a big part of my beef with creationists is that they wish to deny their children dinosaurs. That's as close to a working definition of pure evil as you're likely to find, frankly.) The funny thing is that many of the older Christian denominations have worked evolution into the creation of the universe, pointing out that with the exception of two steps out of order, it follows the scientific progression as depicted in the big bang... When I was in high school and going to mass with my mother (try avoiding going to mass with your mother) I said something about how there is no way that Genisis could jive with science to a priest. As for denying children dinosaurs, I still hold the residents of the British isles responsible for the lack of dragons on the planet today. Your ancestors sent the 'brave knights' out so many times to slay dragons in order to save some maiden or princess or whatever without stopping to think, someone had to hand the maiden or princess over to said dragon, and they may have had a damn good reason for giving them to the dragons. His response was, "okay, so they got a couple of things out of order, but consider this, God has set down laws for us to follow, so it is my belief that the laws of science had to be his idea. And while some Popes were stuck in various ideas in history, the church came around to the facts, even if it had to be brought to those facts kicking and screaming."
