I admit I'm scared of going, and afraid of losing myself if I don't.

Scared of going? That's a great reason to go. :)

I don't know your age, but since you say you have grandchildren, I'll assume to talk about my own mother won't be too far off the mark, though she's actually a great grandmother now, so I'll be off a couple of decades, probably. But regardless, honestly, it was when she broke out of her own familial responsibilities and started grabbing life by the balls on her own terms that she soared as a role model for us all. All in her 70's, she has dated and remarried, traveled to Europe and to China, bought an RV and camped across Alaska and just finished several months of camping across the U.S, just bought a second tiny cozy shack of a home in Florida and is ditching all of us to spend a romantic Thanksgiving there alone with her man. Because she is up and living, long after so many people settle down to grow old comfortably, she gives me hope and excitement for my own future, not limited by age. You can be this same inspiration for your own family. I think being excited enough about something to be scared is a great place to be. And I think being an example for your family on how to be true to yourself is a great gift that you can give them.

I admit I agree and your mom sounds like a fun person to meet.
I admit K and I had a conversation with one of my sons and his wife, and they were very encouraging-telling me I deserve to go do what I want.
I admit I'm getting very excited, now we just have to wait for our little home to be available.

I admit that my past plan to doctor a truck load of toilet paper with pepper spray then supply the Microsoft OS R&D division with it is flawed.
I admit my new plan is much more thorough in punishing these people who are intent on making computer users suffer.
I admit that I have figure out how incorporate food additives into their diet to give them massive gastric distress accompanied by frequent trips to the bathroom as well as hives on their genitals.
I admit that after I accomplish this, and have time to think, I will get mean.

Be easier to go back to linux if I could find a dependable shell program to run the windows applications I like...

As for Apple, they are over priced and half the stuff I do with my HAM radio hobby cant be done on an Apple.

It's their biggest failing, and it's all big Jobs' fault. They could have had a version of the Mac OS that ran on generic pentium boxes out in the mid '90s if the sorry wanker hadn't brainwashed John Sculley into believing that selling more software than hardware was evil. (There was also the blink and you'll miss it Mac clone market during the late '90s, when you could buy a much beter power[c Mac from Umax than you could from Apple.)

If you can't find a decent shell programme to run windows apps in Linux, maybe an emulator would work?

Another issue is that the LAN and sound are onboard the mother board, and finding drivers is a bitch.

I am running down a mobo with nothing on it to build a new system and will go to cards for sound, video and lan which is easier to get drivers that way for linux.

My issue yesterday was that Windows basically decided to act like a self righteous Royal and I wiped the drive and reinstalled it (if you cant beat it into submission, you kill and replace it.)

Then I used the Windows start up utility AND ccleaner start up utility to clean up the start sequence (which gets changed every time windows does an update) turned off automatic update (I choose what gets updated AGAIN) the thing is running like a well tamed Irish slave.

DesFIP -> RE: I Admit It I........ (8/8/2017 3:20:46 PM)

I admit I have fallen in love with The Man all over again.
The oven decided to break last night, leaving me able to turn it on but not off.

I went looking for the overpriced control board to find no one carries any as it's so old.

Tearing my hair out, I start looking for new stoves. The one I need to sell this house is $1,500 which I won't have until my father's apartment goes to closing. Okay, maybe I can find a used one for under $300 to last a couple more months.

Instead using a screwdriver and a pocket knife, he took it apart, discovered there was a bad switch and swapped it with the self cleaning oven switch and again I can cook dinner.

The sheer competence of him is something I take for granted until he does something like this that astounds me.

The only part I could have done without was cleaning up the desiccated mouse carcass that appeared after he pushed the stove back against the wall. But that's what dustpans are for.

jlf1961 -> RE: I Admit It I........ (8/9/2017 1:21:02 PM)

I admit I may have over done it on yard work the last four days....
I admit that today, I seem to have the need of my cane more than usual....
I admit that I am using the beast (a rather uncomfortable, restrictive knee brace) today....

I admit that the next person that suggests replacing my tried and true push mower for a riding lawn mower will have one of each shoved up their ass and removed via the left nostril.

I admit that the day I can no longer mow my grass is the day someone needs to bury me in a box.

jlf1961 -> RE: I Admit It I........ (8/9/2017 6:45:34 PM)

I admit that the Air Force base that used to be in the top five potential targets for a nuclear missile is no longer on anyone's projected target list, thanks to the fact that when the B1 training wing switches to an operational bomb wing, they are transferred and serviced from another base.

I admit that even though this change is good news, the simple fact that all targets for nuclear warheads are in the Northern hemisphere is making the south pacific look real inviting.

I admit that the 900 acre tropical island that was for sale for $250,000 US is still available, and the noisy indigenous occupant has not been violently active in 90 years is making the island very inviting.

I admit that the island's sole inhabitant is a volcano (okay there are birds and wild pigs and a few species of lizards) but the only one you have to worry about is the volcano (and considering the current crop of batshit crazy world leaders, the volcano is looking damn fucking friendly.)

jlf1961 -> RE: I Admit It I........ (8/10/2017 5:31:39 PM)

I admit that today I am of the opinion, that being alone on a deserted island would not be a bad thing....

Phoenixpower -> RE: I Admit It I........ (8/10/2017 6:27:23 PM)

I admit thank you Jeff for your suggestion regarding my husbands future car๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I admit we decided now to save up for the next one cause as long as only one of us is working due to parental leave we don't need a second car...so we can save up a bit until december or january and then buy a second car again...

I admit it is not ideal but due to other necessary expenses this year (oil for our heating and likely another ICSI treatment) it is better that way...

I admit I'm having to get finally serious again about losing weight...

I admit I'm not annoyed about my pregnancy kilos...I'm annoyed about my after-pregnancy kilos[&:] I admit this shit has to come off now again at last [&o]

I admit I bought myself an embroidery machine...

I admit I was incredible naive to believe that a lil bit of sewing will become a cheap hobby๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I admit I feel the same way on the rare occasions when he gets our UM to bed when I'm close to my wits end with that chore๐Ÿ˜ฃ

I admit that's awesome๐Ÿ˜Š

I admit I hope it will be available soon ๐Ÿ˜Š

I admit we aim to move into our own place in 3-4 years time and gosh I can't wait...

I admit it is a lovely house here, very remote and we certainly have our privacy here...

but due to it's remote location EVERYTHING is a further drive away and even worse, the horrid large spiders here freak me out๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I admit 50-60 of them during the 3 years which we are living here now are definitely way too many for my nerves...

I admit I'm fine with most of these creatures but not at that size anymore ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคข

I admit therefore, we will certainly move a tad bit further away from forest areas the next time...that's just really a tad bit too much nature here for me ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I admit YIKES! I admit horrid large spiders are a good reason to move!
I admit I can't wait to find out if/when our little home is available and I hope you get yours soon :)

I admit I still fight the urge to retreat, but the world is too beautiful to let the random ugly keep you a self imposed prisoner.

I admit the issue is primarily family oriented, and basically could be rectified with some well placed kicks to the appropriate asses.
