Sorry dude, I ain't buying it.

Too bad you didn't add any hot photos to go with the new profile.

Pro Dommes may have been a gateway for male subs in the lifestyle, but no gateway on my end of the deal, otherwise, I generally agree with the spirit of the post, Jen.

sounds like a guy with an axe to grind......

HOW IN THE Javelly fuck did you get Mercnbeth in the middle of that?

LadyPact -> RE: Is now the time to ban pro Dommes from Collarme or should we just live and let live (11/12/2009 9:12:55 AM)

Sounds to Me like someone created the profile just days ago to try to spur this debate.  I highly doubt it's a woman's profile at all.  Merely written up by some male who thinks someone is stupid or gullible enough to believe what they chose to write.

Most of the lifestyle Dommes that I know are quite happy that pros are around.  It means we don't have to deal with their clients who care only about having their wants met in exchange for a few dollars.  It's fewer wankers and do-me types for us to have to tolerate.  If the person who wrote those journal entries doesn't get that, I'd say they've been around this lifestyle about as long as the dates suggest.......  Just a mere couple of days.

That journal entry is a dead give away, as well as the one that says 'girls show off their tits and demand money???!!'

that is a man's words, not a woman's. they would say it in entirely different fashion.

Ronne,

I'll look for my resources on this but the bit of history I can find is that heterosexual male "submissives" came out before it was kosher for a guy to "own" a female, and that's because ProDommes started advertising. A few radical gay males decided if women can do this so can men and they started topping female and male clients. Word got out that the fags were spanking and getting paid for it and the straight guys said "Hey! I'll do it for free if you 'll blow me afterward." (to the women) And as ProDommes started seeing more of this, they started having open dungeon nights, no sex because they could get in a world of trouble for it. Thus, the public play party was born and SM hit mainstream, heterosexual pop culture with a bang and right wing America had something else to closeted about.

I've got older ads and a couple of books laying around somewhere in the back room (which is a mess still). Give me a bit and I'll send you references.

Jen,

I have some old mags I got in a wholesale deal and kept them because Vesta was in them, and I hear ya, but remember, I live out here at the END OF THE ROAD (with forays into the wide and opulent world, time to time) and wasn't in the national scene. I have since childbirth considered that women were for 'owning'.

Yep, been a male fuckin' pig all my life.

Ron

btw, I figured it out even if you posted on the Bosses profile.

I've never been hassled in any way, shape, or form by a pro dom. I have been hassled by plenty of non pro doms however. Can I start banning the annoying ones?

As part of the BDSM community, I gotta say I'm not worried about pro dommes advertising here.  I don't worry that they're giving me the wrong impression about BDSM.  Kinky people will do things for money just like vanilla people.  It's no more offensive than having to give someone money to cook you breakfast in the morning, or for a girl to give a guy money to change her oil because her boyfriend thinks it's dirty.  Don't get me started on massage therapists.

Pro dommes...can't live with them...can't live without them[8D]

*no I don't have anything against those luvlies..just felt the phrase suited the thread*[;)]

They are providing a service..it's just an outlet..some people go to see pros, other people go into all these 3d worlds?(..doh I can't remember the word...)  to play their fantasies out there.
The only difference is they provide you the reality of it.

As to that profile? lol.

You have got a funny idea of what is male if you think a profile with Female Dominant attached to it is a man. Its a woman. Its surprising but yes the person who typed the mail to me is a WOMAN

MistressSophia -> RE: Is now the time to ban pro Dommes from Collarme or should we just live and let live (11/12/2009 10:27:43 AM)

I thought I would throw  my two cents in here, "One" I want to say there is a huge differentce between a Pro Domme and a hooker with a whip..Please take time to know the difference.. Next I don't know one Pro Domme that chases after subs. I think the problem these men have is  Pros don't offer sex.. So now we (the pro Domme that wants  tribute for their equipement, their experience. ,But they won't give up sex. ( you serious no BJ's  how about a hand job babe.) so no sex mean they are what phonies. crooks. Life style Dommes offer sex it's their choice..
ProDommes have given back to this life style more then one will ever know they opened doors to subs that would not of had the chance to serve. they have seen younger subs and taught the the basic. they have shared and given.. Their craft enriched this life style..
The pro has a choice to be in the ilife style  that way. The sub has a choice to see her.. they both give in their own way. But never question it is both their choices.. I thought this was an adult site. So unless you are under the age of 18 you have your own choices.
You all want a shock .Start a new thread.
"Who on this site has learned from seeing a Pro"
Trust me this tread was started by a guy. that otherwise could not get lucky with a fist full of hundred in a whore house  or  "MISTRESS THAT ISN'T GETTING ENOUGH ATTENTION..
THESE PRO'S ARE NOT OFFERING SEX. THEY ARE JUST STATING  THEY ARE PRO AND TO SEE THEM THERE IS A CHARGE.. Do you see your doctor with out paying. how about you accountaint. Denist, etc.. All Pro's "PROFESSIONAL"
I think we should band all those that call them self slave.. are they in service? . are they owned?. Do they even know what it entails? Ban them.. Ban the subs that have  QUESTIONS.  I know Iam tired of all the unanswered questions.. How about the cross dressers for the wrong color wig.  or the heavy sub for not keeping in shape. Ban the ones that contact you every few weeks.
Their is a block on everyones screen . use it.. or shut the fuck up.. we aren't going anywhere. and thank your lucky starts on that..
YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE CHOICE NOT TO COME ON AT ALL!
I AM A PRO

So Kev, how do you know this?  Was she on cam as she was typing the mail to you?  Or because it says "Female Dominant" on the profile, you figure it MUST BE TRUE?

LadyNTrainer -> RE: Is now the time to ban pro Dommes from Collarme or should we just live and let live (11/12/2009 10:34:43 AM)

Why yes, absolutely.  Women should all be made to wear veils in the street, and immoral or loose women must all be stoned or hanged.  Let's all march in the streets to enforce this decree, so that no one will ever be allowed to engage in shameful behavior again!

If you don't happen to want to live under a terrorist regime, I recommend exercising your personal choices and common sense and letting everyone else do the same. You should block anyone who does not respect your personal boundaries and who is out to take from you while giving as little as possible in return.  There are a lot of people in that category who prowl adult sites.  Some of them are women, but demographically speaking, more of them are men.  Pro dommes who are open and honest about their agenda of being willing to exchange money for time and energy are a very small part of this particular problem.

There are also going to be a lot of people in the category of "offering something you personally do not want" on an adult site.  No big surprise there; we have folks of different genders and orientations on board, and even two people whose orientations are compatible on the surface may want totally different things.  If you can't set your personal boundaries, that's going to be a problem, since you are sharing space with gays, lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals, heterosexuals, dominants, submissives and switches.  But if you confuse your personal boundaries for what you want to enforce as universal boundaries, your philosophy is no different from any other than oppresses consenting adults.  It's fine to say, "No thank you, I am not gay, I am only attracted to biological females."  It is a whole different ballpark to actively attack gays and transgendered people just for existing, and to tell other people that they are not allowed to be interested either.  The word for that is "bigot", and it's ugly.

If you don't want what somebody is selling, whether that somebody is a pro domme or a guy who wants you to suck his dick, you have the right to say no.  You do not have the right to tell everybody else that they have to say no even if they are consenting adults who want to say yes.  They have as much right to say yes as you have to say no, and it is none of your business if somebody else does want to suck dick or enter into a professional relationship.  Deny other people that right, and you are no different from the fundamentalists who think they should stone people for "immoral" behavior.

If you are approached in a rude, unethical, inconsiderate or underhanded way, it's natural to be angry at the person who did that to you.  Nobody likes being used, cheated, lied to or aggressively sleazed on.  But it's not rational to blame a whole category of people for it.  There are married and cheating "male doms" who lie to female submissives online to get what they want with no consideration for the consequences to their victims.  There are "male submissives" who treat all dommes on this site, including the ones with "friends only" profiles, as their personal drive-through McDomme's where they can send explicit pictures and aggressively crude sexual demands while they masturbate.  And yes, there are also dominant and submissive women who lie and scam men for money with no intention of following through and no consideration for their victims.  Some people are takers or players, and that's not limited to a particular gender or orientation.

An honest pro domme who is clear and up front about the transaction she is negotiating with another consenting adult is behaving ethically.  There is both give and take in the equation.  It's fair, it's consensual, and both parties get what they want from the relationship.  And generally speaking, it's also safe and legal, with no sex involved.  THAT is the real professional dominant.  The women online (who are sometimes not even women) who demand money for nothing or who are "stealth pros" are amateurs at best.  They certainly don't have a professional attitude or ethic regarding their clients.  The word for that is "scammer", not "pro domme", and it is both inaccurate and unfair to lump us into the same category.

Pro dommes - the real professionals, not the amateur online scammers - are people first and foremost.  Many of us are active participants in our local community, and most of us also have personal partners.  It's hard to say if there would even *be* a heterosexual BDSM community without the historical influence of pro dommes and houses.  I would recommend thinking twice before trying to stop other people from making their own free choices about their BDSM relationships, even if you exercise your own free choice to do it differently.   Interfering with the sexual choices of other consenting adults is a very slippery slope, and it really doesn't lead anywhere that is good or healthy for your own personal freedoms.
