I am so thrilled to start this thread! On Nov 9th our sweet Thomas Michael (Snappy Kappy) received his lung transplant!! As expected, it was a rough few days, but yesterday he was off of the ventilator, out of bed and taking a few steps!!! He was transplanted at a VA hospital. I know Veterans day was yesterday, but a "thank you" is never too late. Thomas...thank you for you service. Thank you for never giving up on yourself. Thank you for your fighting spirit. Thank you for sharing that spirit with each of us. Thank you for being an inspiration. Thank you for making it. On a personal note...this has made me very emotional. My late husband was a veteran as well. He and Snappy Kappy shared the sweet name of Michael. My Michael received his transplant on November 9th as well. Kappy...Michael had your back.

What fabulous news! I hope his recovery is quick and relatively pain-free. Sheesh, November is really being the month for surgeries for folks here.

Y'know. "November is Kinkster Surgery Month" doesn't quite have the ring of "February is Black History Month". But it sounds better than "March is Frozen Food Month".
