peppermint -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/29/2007 1:13:35 PM)

My preference has always been for someone near to my own age.  I met Sir at a BDSM camping event 2 years ago.  We connected very easily.  It didn't matter that at 64 he was 10 years older than i.  I will admit that had he first contacted me online i probably wouldn't have been very enthusiastic to meet with him due to his age.

We're been 24/7 for 15 months now.  We've had some generational differences, mainly choice of music and politics.  However, these are minor compared to the joy we have sharing our lives.

SunNMoon -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/29/2007 1:16:16 PM)

I'm 24 and my love is 23. But if I was single I would be looking for someone 21-28. The person would have to be younger then my dad (60).

Okay, I can't stand it.  Generational differences with a ten-year difference?

Surely you jest...

the collarme member i'm chatting with is 20yrs older than me and the youngest i've met is 26yrs old.  i think my cut-off age for meeting a Dom would be 60yrs old.

nookie -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/30/2007 4:09:29 PM)

[:)]

I wouldn't stop looking if I were you.

I don't see your question as being negative, or poor me. I see it as a shared experience, one you're trying to understand.

As seen from all the replies to your question, there are a variety of views on, and reasons for setting age limits. And to each his/her own. A relationship can only work for the people who are in it. It doesn't matter what the people outside it think.

I am an "older" submissive woman. I've experienced the "Older male seeking younger woman" phenomenom. Go figure.

For me, personally, I'd prefer a Dom close to my age. It's not because of inexperience on the part of younger Doms or childishness, or anything negative. It's because I'm old enough to remember the Vietnam era and prefer to be able to talk about life experiences without being looked at blankly.

I'm lucky enough to be talking with someone very close to my age, someone who remembers the same things I do.

And, [;)] we both tire at about the same time.

I wish you luck in your search. Take care.

corsetgirl -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 12:48:07 AM)

I am 48 years old and I think my oldest age limit would be doms who are in  their early 60's.  I like to look at the person's character first.

I once had a very bad date with someone claiming to be 55 years old but this man just looked like my dad and would stare at my breasts everytime we would converse.  That definitely made me feel very uncomfortable and the date only lasted 45 minutes because I wanted to get away from him!

On the other hand, I don't think I would want to be with a dom who is younger than 35 years.

Hang in there Flight and I hope you will find someone who will accept you for who you are, not by your age.

Slavebitch11 -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 11:53:05 AM)

I've had Doms in their 70's book/play with me.....if they can hack it, so can I.
Age is but a number.

Rose4Mistress -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 12:38:38 PM)

To me, age does not matter so much as attraction.  I would never say that I would not date someone in their 40s or 50s, because it is quite possible that I could be attracted to someone in that age range.
Ideally, I look for someone in their late 20s or early 30s (I am only 18), because we would have more social things in common than me and a 50 year old.  But if a lovely woman came along who was 50 or so that I was attracted to, and who liked the same books and had some of the same past-times as me...I would of course be intrigued!
Don't be annoyed that people tell you that you are too old.  I get told I am too young on a daily basis.  I know I am not too young for this, you know you are not too old.  Other people will see that if you truly believe it.

tsatske -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 4:26:47 PM)

I am 38. My last Master was slightly over 70. Having 'everything working' is not a consideration for me, either, my last 2 masters, my last husband and several play partners in between were impotent. They still knew how to weild control. All that matters is if they grab my heart.

Totalmaster4you -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 4:35:04 PM)

I'm directing this specifically to collegebeauty. I would've written her directly but another invisable profile. My point to you is this there are many relationships with much older men and younger women that lasted 30 to 40 years. Mrs Bing Crosby has written about her life which was exactly that situation. I've seen young people contract a fatal disease and die before they hit 30 after only a few years of marriage. Many older celebrities marry younger live till they're in their 90's with long marriages. What I'm trying to say is forget age and if you find someone you click with enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m21.gif[/image]

popeye1250 -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 7:33:37 PM)

Well, I'm 56 and I look at that actress Helen Mirren who is 64 I think and she is ***HOT***!

Then if you're an older guy and very wealthy there doesn't seem to be any problem finding women of any age.

alphasubstituent -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 7:38:13 PM)

Hmmm, I'm 18 so i'd have to say that my cap is 77. Sorry to all those 78 year old ladies out there....it might be strange.

hisannabelle -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 7:40:41 PM)

i don't THINK i've responded to this thread yet, but i can't remember. oh well ;)

i am 19, he's 54. i don't have a particular age range when searching. i tend to click better with older men, but that's a tendency, not an absolute.

daddysliloneds -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 8:22:48 PM)

i never thought about 'considering' anyone older than me to be a hard limit until i was with him, the day of his birthday, and the fact that he had just turned 74 stopped me dead in my track...

in the 15 years that i had known him, played with him, been best friends with him, never once had i thought about his age; we were perfect together on so many levels...

that day, is the day i thought long and hard about his and mine future together. i had to choose between the 'here and now' or what i considered to be more of a 'long-run' view of things..

needless to say, the 'here and now' lost out.

Over the past several years, since my sub died, I have been trying to find someone new. We were together for about 10 years. During that 10 years, I happened to pass my 50th birthday, and am now 54.

If I see a profile with a specific age range desired for a Dom, and I don't fit, I generally don't contact her. I also tend to search for submissive women over the age of 40, which admittedly narrows the field. However, I am getting more and more responses from subs from age 45 to 60 that, at age 54, I am "too old" for them.

To be told by a sub whose profile says she is the same age as you or older that "I don't want to have anything to do with a Dom over 50" is, to say the least, hard on the ego, especially when it seems that is the sole reason for rejection.

Is this just something limited to the submissive women of eastern New England? Or should all Doms who are over 50 just stop looking?

For me personally i do have an age limit of 40, but every year it seems to change. And i don't really want a much older Dom that could also be my dad, just the thought gives me goosebumps

Well i don't know if it's an east coast thing.  But Daddy and I have been together 2 years, he's 11.5 years older than I am and he's turning 57 this year.  There's a while lot of great knowledge, life experience and maturity which goes with all those years.  I ADORE older men, tops and bottoms.
