daddysliloneds -> RE: What is the oldest Dom you would consider? (3/31/2007 8:22:48 PM)

i never thought about 'considering' anyone older than me to be a hard limit until i was with him, the day of his birthday, and the fact that he had just turned 74 stopped me dead in my track... in the 15 years that i had known him, played with him, been best friends with him, never once had i thought about his age; we were perfect together on so many levels... that day, is the day i thought long and hard about his and mine future together. i had to choose between the 'here and now' or what i considered to be more of a 'long-run' view of things.. needless to say, the 'here and now' lost out. quote:
ORIGINAL: Fightdirecto Over the past several years, since my sub died, I have been trying to find someone new. We were together for about 10 years. During that 10 years, I happened to pass my 50th birthday, and am now 54. If I see a profile with a specific age range desired for a Dom, and I don't fit, I generally don't contact her. I also tend to search for submissive women over the age of 40, which admittedly narrows the field. However, I am getting more and more responses from subs from age 45 to 60 that, at age 54, I am "too old" for them. To be told by a sub whose profile says she is the same age as you or older that "I don't want to have anything to do with a Dom over 50" is, to say the least, hard on the ego, especially when it seems that is the sole reason for rejection. Is this just something limited to the submissive women of eastern New England? Or should all Doms who are over 50 just stop looking?
