Hmm? You weren't aware of emulated servers? UO has a fully functional emulator out called RunUO which has all the features of the pay servers. and several popular free UO servers have populations of 50,000+ I'm not sure what the name of the software for the WoW and EverQuest emulators are but I know they exist and i'll ask around. I shouldn't have much trouble finding it. Indeed, I loved Fallout 1 and finally managed to get a copy of 2 online earlier this year (it was banned for sale in canada) and finished it in a week Tactics had potential but it was poorly designed and the AI is a little off. Though i'm actually playing it on another comp while i'm writing this You have to love the 'once your objectives are complete you will use the brotherhoods superior might and intellect to butcher the remaining savages' quote from General Barnaky eh? Quite amusing. Come to think of it i've never heard of Arcanum, though i've been out of the loop for awhile with most of the newer games. As for the game i'm working on... its somewhat loosely inspired by Fallout. Basically a post-nuclear war setting, starting out in the western US and expanding with future updates. Its planned out to have about fifty skills ranging from construction based skills like blacksmithing to passive skills like weapons handling. I've got a list in the design doc. Currently planning to implement a custom housing system, where players can gather materials to build the house, combine them into a specific deed and then build the house, or allow for a custom design, similar to what UO has. In addition to housing there will be various vehicles, a guild system, faction system, the possibility of guild-alligned faction wars (currently 5 factions: raiders, mutants, a religious cult, remnants of the US Army and an AI-driven machine based 'skynet' type of faction) I've got a list of info about it if you'd like me to post or cmail you it. Its intended to be full 3d with support for lower end systems and i'm hoping for an alpha test within the next year. The programming is coming along quite well, its just finding art staff thats the most difficult problem. By the way, if anybody knows anyone who can do concept art or 3d modelling could you send me a message?
