She can keep driving and speeding then there will be no options. Cuz she's gonna be locked up! At least that's how it works in my hood.

Personally the pride you felt in speeding ...........
Sorry for this rant but this struck a nerve.

The speeding tickets were all in one day...
NO PRIDE..just blind fear..
MY grandson was badly burned and I had 350 mi to get to him..
he was in IC....and going down..fast.

Yes I would do no good to him dead..but at the time I was in a panic beyond anything I ever felt..

YES I put lives in danger..NO it was not right..
IT WAS WRONG

Now I pay the consequence AND WILL..gladly..

OTHER questions answered:
*MY license was taken for 1 month..I have it back
* IN CA you cannot get insurance until ALL fines are paid
* No I am not an idiot..my IQ is 148..but I was stupid that day

ty all..............

ps..as for SPEEDING =out of control and not DOMINANT..

That is why in the last 2 years I STOPPED LOOKING
UNTIL I could get my health( 100 lbs off)...finances($55,000 paid off)..grandson and mom safe...and more in ORDER..including the cleaning up of the speed mess.
I WILL NOT be in control of another IF I am not in control of MYSELF,,in all ways

Question: Were those the only tickets or were there more?

Thank you for explaining the circumstances.

Perhaps you may get the fines reduced due to the circumstances... maybe offer to take a safe driver's course; both of which I think have already been mentioned.

doesn't sound like it in your op...

And i do not give a dead rats ass WHY you were speeding. So you wanted to get to your grandson? I understand and have sympathy. But...you had no right...none!!...to put the lives of others in danger.  And you did it THREE times in the same day...

Personally...i doubt it was just three tickets and doubt the scenario you present, as common sense tells that IF that were the case, a document stating the childs condition could have been obtained and presented to a judge.

I think you are a chronic speeder and should have your license pulled for life, as you are no better than one who drives drunk.

[sm=dunno.gif] Sorry if you don't like what i have to say....

You'll forgive me for being blunt here, Gypsy, but the first thing you need to do is, stop driving like a fucking idiot!  I'm happy you aren't sharing the roads with me right now, because it doesn't sound like you share well.

That said, you can get a basic transportation sort of vehicle for a few hundred dollars.  Drive that.  I once spent a year and a half driving a series of $200 cars, none of which were ever insured, and my license was suspended the whole time (lack of insurance).  As long as I didn't do anything that caused a cop to pull me over, it wasn't a problem.

Good luck, and get smart behind the wheel before you kill somebody.

You haven't answered my question so I'll ask again, were these the only tickets you have gotten for speeding or have there been more? I see a great difference between someone who sped in a panic and someone who habitually speeds so some clarification would be helpful.

Even so I can't get past the thought that after getting the first you didn't slow down. Surely you realised that it would be more productive to slow down, even though it would mean anxiety at wanting to drive faster.

rockspider -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 11:06:57 AM)

Bing and i did see red. Well in my hood 50 % over the legal speed limit is considered reckless driving. It will give you a very stiff fine, the removal of your driving license for one year costing a minimum of 2000 $ to regain as you have to have 40 hours driving at a licensed driving school and pass teoretical and practical test. Second offense the fine minimum doubles and the removal of the license is for 5 years. Third offence is permanent removal of your driving license. Any driving while your license is removed is a jail sentence. If you do have a car on your premises it is not unusual the cops parks just out of sight of you. But in such a manner that they can see if that car moves at all. If it does it is flagged down imidiately.
I find your actions no less incriminating than the psycho letting rip with an AK 47 in to a crowd of people, claiming later "I didn't want to harm anybody" well for your information i invite you to visit casualty rooms, rehab wards and even cemeteries to meet the victims of your kind of "driving skills". Furthermore you show no need to obtain an insurance to keep going thereby failing to consider even the basic needs for your future victims. Everything is purely based on your needs and obvious love for speed.
If you happen to look up DSM IV as the diagnostic system for personality disorders and mental illness is called in USA you will find that the total disregard for societys norms and laws is one criteria fullfilled to be diagnosed as having "Dysfunctional personality disorder" or psychopath as it more normally called. The failure to show remorse and learn from their mistakes is another. DSM IV is a tree strike and you are out system. Look it up and see about you fullfill just one more and thereby can call your self a fully fledged member of "The Psychopats Of America Club".
I love the "Three strikes and you are out" penal system as the Americans practice. There is no cure for a psychopath. Strong consequences can modify their behaviour. But if 2 chances is not enough neither wil 3,4 or 10 be. The best for society is to lock them up and chuck the key away.

FR

I don't know about other states, but in Texas, if you're going 25 mph or higher over the speed limit, you can't do defensive driving, unless a Judge orders you to.

This seems to be the result you were trolling for. If so, great.

If you get behind a wheel again - think about others.

Didn't we have a thread on this before, where her desire to get to her grandson outweighed the risks of killing innocent people (or was that someone else?).  Because being able to see him in ICU while still breathing but unconscious was far, far more important than anyone she might have killed.  No, I have no sympathy.

I was going to suggest a moped.

tazzygirl -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 11:59:12 AM)

Some states require a license for mopeds too.

CalifChick -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 12:33:25 PM)

She has a license, and California requires a license for mopeds.  I was thinking of the insurance issue... since she cannot go 100 mph on one, I thought perhaps there was special insurance she could obtain to ride one.  Or a Segway (there are a couple in my town, and people ride them on the sidewalk).

Yeah somehow that rings a bell for me too, Cali, and I agree, and no I don't have any sympathy either. Maybe the first time it happened but three times in one day? OP you need to wake up before you kill someone.

purepleasure -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 2:13:32 PM)

Gypsy,

First let me say that I'm glad that your grandson survived his accident, and I hope that his recovery is as painless as possible.

While a vehicle may not be an option for you at this time, pleading with the officials in charge of your fines might be able to set you up wiht a payment plan to get your fines paid off and/or reduced to a more affordable amount. I can appreciate how you felt on the day you were caught speeding, and I can not say that I would have or not behaved in a similar manner, had I been in your situation. This still does not make it legal, or safe for other drivers and their passengers.

In the meantime, there is public transportation, cabs, and as mentioned, mopeds.

One day's lack of judgement in safe driving should not negate a lifetime's worth of safe driving. Just sayin'.

MsSpookshow -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 2:20:31 PM)

Here is a constructive idea. Get a bicycle, it is great exercise and it will take you where you need to go. Sorry but anyone who drives that fast and is not on a race track is someone who does not need to drive.

Good luck.

frazzle -> RE: Need a car..but I ben bad... (11/22/2009 3:42:54 PM)

Well that shows no remorse.

Here to find a free ride, so she can carry on putting other peoples lives at risk, if she can get insurance.

By the way, caught speeding once in a day, an explaination to the police, might have got you an escort. 3 times, means you thought you were above the law.

Actually,you don't need a license to ride Anything under 50cc's(most 80cc motors look and sound exactly like a 50 ;D)in california, you can't legally ride on the freeway(or would you ever want to) but you can use almost any other roads to your hearts content, and if you really wanted to, you could even insure it for next to nothing....Here's a good site
