Gypsy, First let me say that I'm glad that your grandson survived his accident, and I hope that his recovery is as painless as possible. While a vehicle may not be an option for you at this time, pleading with the officials in charge of your fines might be able to set you up wiht a payment plan to get your fines paid off and/or reduced to a more affordable amount. I can appreciate how you felt on the day you were caught speeding, and I can not say that I would have or not behaved in a similar manner, had I been in your situation. This still does not make it legal, or safe for other drivers and their passengers. In the meantime, there is public transportation, cabs, and as mentioned, mopeds. One day's lack of judgement in safe driving should not negate a lifetime's worth of safe driving. Just sayin'.
