~FR~ Greetings, *sighs* to be honest I get tired of reading over and over on people's profiles and the boards complaints and whining about "fakes." I have found that if you take the time and effort to put something substantial in your profile and journal, the proportion of decent e-mails goes up. I occasionally get the scammer- they're pretty obvious to spot, I also get the crude and/or rude one liners once in a while, and the cut and pasted and obviously-have-not-read- a-word-of-my-profile paragraphs. But... the obnoxious and the scams I block, the one-liners and cut-and-pasters I ignore. And I am left with a handful of courteous decent emails to which I respond. I have "met" (in the sense of on-line conversing) many very nice and interesting people. I come to the boards, and the majority of people who bother to take the time to post here, I find to be genuine in their views, whether or not I agree with them and I assume there to be real live homo sapiens behind the keyboards. As to how much I respect them, time and reading their posts helps me. I've had people accuse me of being fake- even had one say I was "Santa Claus" because he didn't believe my photos could be me (next time I take one for CM, I'm thinking of holding the day's newspaper up [8|])- oh yes and I've also been accused of being a "dirty old man behind the computer" and my Master has been accused of being me. It kind of makes me laugh. Why would I take the time to write a lengthy profile and write journal entries and post on the boards if I'm not "real." And anyone with half a brain can tell the difference in writing style, thoughts and demeanor between me and my Master. I think honestly, people find what they look for. If you are ready to find fakes, then you will see fakes; but if you look for quality in people, you will often find that too. Just my two cents [sm=2cents.gif] Well wishes, anna
