lobodomslavery -> Why do some Dommes have subject to legal ramifications on their profile? (11/23/2009 1:47:19 AM)

Ladies it comes from profiles I have seen lately. I hope everyone is feeling good today by the way. Its a beautiful bright if chilly morning in Dublin. Anyway like I was saying I have been perusing some Female Dominant profiles lately. And in some of them there is legal warnings at the end of them. What gives Ladies? Why would any Lady have at the end of their profile you do not have permission to use any of my profile if you do you may be subject to legal ramifications. ? Why are some Ladies getting very legalistic all of sudden.? Is this not a social networking site not a judicial cross examination or sending out legal ramification warnings? What gives? Why would any Lady seeking  a sub put this at  the end of her profile? Is it a way of showing dominance and power? Is it the new fad? What gives Ladies. I would appreciate your views on this. Thanks
Kevin

I believe it's because people are using sites like this for research, and most of us would prefer to not have our comments, profiles or pictures featured in studies, and particularly not in the mainstream media.  Which reminds me, I should add that myself.

I guess you haven't met Kevin have you. He likes to complain about Dominas, it's his kink. Read some of his past posts/threads and you'll see what I mean. Congrats you are no longer a Kevin virgin!

Some of us put such disclaimers in our profiles in the event we run into individuals such as the OP.

OP, why do you care what other's have in their profile? I have actually noticed some men and women on both sides of the kneel with that disclaimer in their profile dommes aren't the only ones but again why does it matter?

Because it s intriguing thats all. Im wondering is it a kind of reverse psychology to try and attract subbies. Im fascinated by the Human mind and how it works

The fact that you can not always separate fantasy from reality or truth from fiction shows that you are.

No that s not my point. My point is what is the need for legal warning notices on a social networking website regardless of position. If it was male subs i would be equally perturbed

Kevin, it's not just the Dommes.  I've seen sub profiles that have the disclaimer as well.

I consider it a sign of low intelligence to post that.  The people who rip off pictures usually do it with the intent to flesh out a profile used to get people to part with money under false pretenses.  In other words, robbery and fraud.  If someone is going to commit fraud, why should they let some alleged copyright infringement deter them?

I have lots of friends here on colarme.  And not a one of them has posted that in their profile.

I once saw a couples profile that claimed among other things that the two of them together had more experience than any other person on collarme (they were not active with local groups, so God only knows what "experience" they were counting).  They had four or five pics of people engaging in kink, obviously not of themselves.  And they posted the standard warning, and the pictures weren't even theirs!

Well it does not surprise. Nothing would surprise me on Collarme. Be that as it may I  should say that the vast majority of people on collarme, I would not question their integrity at all, even the posters who think im mentally ill, unfortunately the minority, as in everything else ruin it for everyone at times

Kevin, you really REALLY need to spend less time staring at your computer screen and more time doing........something else.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Why do some Dommes have subject to legal ramifications on their profile? (11/23/2009 7:28:48 AM)

Unfortunately the persons who have on this on their profile are not contributing. In a nutshell, Im not targetting You

I'm actually curious as to how many Domme profiles you've run across with these "legal ramifications" to start a thread.

(By the by, it is not exactly a question of one's intelligence to put a disclaimer. I've politely made it clear, on a profile elsewhere, that my posts and photos aren't to be used for anything aside for wank fodder privately, and are to remain on my profile, etc.)

On the whole, I'm more fascinated with your constant questioning of Dommes.

First on the professional level, and now the legal. [8|]

you are so delusional

If you do a quick google search, you'll find that disclaimer on profiles on all the big kink sites, not just here.  Yet I have never found any indication that it is necessary, as no research study would include anything that anyone has on their profile on a kink site, without their permission.  If they're counting bodies, or counting women, or some such thing, they don't need your permission.

Read up and familiarize yourself with copyright laws and the internet. If a person uses another's profile as their own, technically that is a form of identity theft. That also applies to stolen profile photos and also applies to taking a section of someone's blog and passing it off as one's own or using it elsewhere without the original writer's explicit permission.
