I got a kick out of this...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/26/beck-rules-out-2012-run-w_n_371728.html

Seems Beck is not so happy about having "hoot" attached with his name.
Sighs and I thought after seeing the 2012 SNL clip they were a shoo in!!!!

slvemike4u -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 7:50:10 AM)

No Palin- Beck ticket in 2012...one moe thing to give thanks for on this holiday weekend.

Musicmystery -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 8:17:20 AM)

And yet, "No, no I'm just saying -- Beck-Palin, I'll consider."

"But Palin-Beck -- can you imagine, can you imagine what an administration with the two of us would be like? What? Come on! She'd be yapping or something, and I'd say, 'I'm sorry, why am I hearing your voice? I'm not in the kitchen.'"

Seems a few conservatives have remembered they like their wimmin in their place.

Did you notice Music, how I ignored that little snippet altogether?
I had to snort at it actually, cos all I would want to do if he said that to me would be to beat him into a snivelling little puddle, but then hes already there, so wheres the fun in that?
I tried to contemplate him in a submissive pose and it made me squeal in laughter.
And thinking of him in a dominant pose, I had to bleach my brain.
shuddering[X(]

slvemike4u -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 9:43:46 AM)

Yeah Lucy,I ignored that little throw away line myself......I mean if there's anything sillier than a Palin-Beck ticket......it would be a Beck-Palin candidacy.
Sheesh even your run of the mill conservative couldn't be this silly.......could they?

Lucylastic -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 10:22:33 AM)

My favourite conservative thinks its hysterical...but he is twisted anyway.

I have a feeeling that the conservatives I respect here will treat it with the contempt it deserves.
the others? not so much:)

slvemike4u -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 10:43:04 AM)

Palin has become something of a litmus test,has she not?
Serious thinking conservatives,though they may whine about her treatment at the hands of the "liberal media",will concede that she is no longer a viable candidate(meanwhile the rest of us wonder when she ever was     a serious candidate...lol)....
Conservative cloaked wing nuts on the other hand are still salivating at the thought of another chance to see their very own hockey mom riling up the crowds as she makes another run for National Office....this time at the top of the ticket.
Hell we even see it here as posters like Heretic try to bring reality to soem of our less enlightened posters.

The mental image of Beck and Palin locked in a room together is a never ending source of hilarity. Its like a Idiocracy version of Hepburn/ Tracy, or at least the Bickersons, except with the stupid level turned up to 11.

Musicmystery -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 10:58:44 AM)

Speaking of images, this is one interesting theory...

And incidentally, speaking of this...

...here are some interesting snippets from another piece today:

"Beck commences reasonably enough by declaring that war 'should qualify as a shared sacrifice.' But then he veers into irrational demands that strain any effort to understand:

'What sacrifice are you willing to share? Shave your armpits, sign up for a tour of duty and share the sacrifice.'

"Is he directing this exclusively to women? Or are all recruits expected to shave under their arms these days?"

Anyone else see this one coming--?

"What is notable about Beck berating others to enlist is that he never did so. Not in his youth, nor for the current wars in which he claims to believe. Beck was 37 years old in 2001. He could have signed up after 9/11, and during any of the five years thereafter. But apparently shared sacrifice was secondary to seeking radio stardom."

But this part?

"Beck is not only opposed to sharing sacrifices by spreading the costs of war to all citizens, he believes that the sacrifice Americans ought to be making is in the area of their own well being. He argues that domestic initiatives like health care should be curtailed in favor of war funding."

The piece concludes (after a discussion of health care issues):

"Glenn Beck is a wealthy, well-insured, elitist who has never served in the military. Yet he is comfortable lecturing everyone else on what it means to share sacrifice. He is content to allow thousands of Americans to die here at home - ten times the number every year than have died in Iraq and Afghanistan in eight years - so that he doesn’t have to pay a little more of his millions in taxes. And then he has the gall to belittle others for failing to show due consideration for the troops.

"An equally disturbing aspect of this is that, in pursuit of his greedy selfishness, Beck will deliberately misinform his legions of deluded disciples about the facts related to health insurance deficiencies and abuses. With his proclivity for purposeful deception he joins his Fox colleague, Bill O’Reilly, who still insists that there are no homeless veterans.

"The only lessons to be learned from Beck’s sermon on shared sacrifice are sadistic, shameless, self-serving, specious, and quite literally sickening."

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 11:41:34 AM)

I'm telling you right now, that if Lou Dobbs throws his hat in the ring, we have a very good chance of finally taking back our country for English speaking, moderates. None of this "change we can believe in" or "country first" crapola. I would estimate that 20% of the population are true conservatives, and 20% are liberal pinkos. That means we have to do what Reagan did, and bring in the conservative base, while catering to the silent majority. Screw the 20% who are liberals. Liberals like Ted Kennedy have been dictating immigration policy for far too long.

http://babelishere.webs.com/aware.html

I'm almost a true conservative, only conceding that Senior Citizens, handicapped, unemployed, and people with chronic illnesses or diseases should be entitled to any Government freebies, but I think the country is so far to the left now, with so many people unemployed, and below the poverty line, that our only hope for now is to elect a moderate like Lou Dobbs. If we don't begin to get the word out now about Lou Dobbs, We're going to have another election where the liberal media steers the sheeples to liberal candidates, and there simply are not enough true conservatives left to elect Palin/Beck.

The liberal media wants the republicans to nominate Palin since they know there's not enough conservatives left to get them elected. What happened in the last election was that true conservatives knew McCain was a globalist, and a joke, but there were still enough globalist senior citizen republicans left to get him nominated. Once nominated it was easy for Obama to portray him as Bush's 3rd term, and the combination of the war in Iraq and the economy was a knockout punch that no one could overcome. The democrats could have nominated Alfred E Neuman and still won.

It's also almost a sure thing that the economy will at least slightly improve giving the illusion that the democrats saved us from a depression. So voting for a republican would be a wasted vote. Lou Dobbs will be the best pick to get Obama out short of the economy getting worse or if obama has a major scandal in his administration or a major crisis that reveals his spineless nature.

Musicmystery -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 11:50:01 AM)

Here's the thing.

It's the far left and right crowd who are anti-global. The moderate middle recognizes the realities of a global economy--and has for decades.

Lucylastic -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 11:52:53 AM)

OH this is gonna be along 3 years for you isnt it

slvemike4u -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 12:50:18 PM)

I'm guessing he would include himself in that grouping of "English-speaking moderates"
What happens if a moderate who holds all the same political veiws wanted to join his club.......but he only spoke spanish?
Would this collection of "moderates" overlook the poor fellows flaw...and allow him to "tea-bag" with them?

Lucylastic -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 6:54:40 PM)

Doesnt sound very moderate to me.. unless I misunderstood the dictionary definition.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Glen isnt a "hoot" (11/27/2009 10:23:32 PM)

The link is there. It's even easy to find. See the orange type?

I don't like to present blog pieces as news. Note I even avoided the word "article."

It is, as I said, interesting snippets. No claim beyond that.

Got any thoughts on the content? Or just content to slam the very idea of posting?

So you're saying it's okay for a woman to respond violently when a man says something she doesn't like....yet when a man does it, it's "abuse."

Interesting.
