Status: offline 		I'm not ranting, or raving. I'm asking a simple question here. I just seen 3 profiles with pics in them. Now I know that for personal, professional, family, etc.... reasons, some do not post pics on here. Or they do but not of the face.

Now my question is ..... if you are not going to post a pic of your face, why post a pic at all? The pics I seen where of these Doms, in normal everyday clothing... if they were trying to show they weren't obese, or stocky, or healthy... how can one tell with the every day or baggy shirts only showing? I'm really not understanding, that's why I thought I would ask what others thought about the half body shot pics on some profiles. I mean I can understand of one wants to show tht he''s not over weight, show off pecks... etc... but can't understand what you're trying to show.. or state.. when pic is from barely the shoulders to crotch area.

So when others see pics like this... of males or females.. what are your thoughts? Now I know when one shows bare chest.. etc... I smile.. might even send a thank you note for a lovely drool. But I just do not know what to think about the other pics.

Like I said... not a rant.. not venting.. i'm actually curious as to what others think of these pics... and also if one has this type of pic in their profile... why?

Status: offline 		I think your right truesub..they are simply showing that they are height weight proportionate or possibly ummm showing off their wardrobe tastes?:0)...while of course maintaining annonymity....and as far as a lovely drool hummm well! ummm I have seen only about 3 of those thus far!..fully clothed of course...Tempting.

People put up pics just to show who they are or to put in a little mistery. Sometimes, you just need a pic to get someone attention. As chat and conversation come about, most people begin to send more pics of all features as well as web cam.
Hiding your face initally can help keep stangers from yelling "Eh, aren't you that person on Collar Me?"

Status: offline 		I guess I don't know an answer for that. I posted my pic so people would know what I look like in case we ever meet. I want them to know that I am what I say I am. But then, I posted a pic with my face on it too so.............

Status: offline 		I chose my picture in order to create a sense of mystery. I don't tell anyone too much about myself, I like subs that are so daring that they are willing to meet someone that they know nothing about. I expect them to not only send me a picture but also a video as well as a voice recording and signature verification. I expect them to tell me all kinds of things about themselves, very personal and private things. But I really don't like them knowing too much about me until after we have sexual relations and have done the fluid bonding thing. And then I only tell them my real middle name.

I mean really, what's the fun exposing everything about yourself before you chain them up and ... Ooops, I think I just told you all too much....

Status: offline 		i just wish the MODs would allow for more revealing pics here...i mean, the ladies can show themselves nude or nearly so...but not men (not into looking at men but there may be those here that are...it seems unfair)

also, there are some profiles that provided nothing but the bare minimum required...they should at least say what they seek or offer...doncha think?

(fixed another typo...pet peeve...sorry)

Status: offline 		I think it is the same thing for lady profiles. They post pics of their shoes, like I am supposed to care that they are wearing any. They post pics of their boobs. Pics of their thongs, whatever. The way I look at it, if that is their finest asset and they think that lowly of themselves that they have to prostitute themselves in order to find a mate, I am not the least bit interested in wasting My time reading their gimme gimme gimme lick my boots profiles.

It is true, though, if you think about it for a second. There is nothing I like more than to see a beautiful face with a big smile. That encourages Me to read about who they are, even though I am not looking for anyone. I will even drop them a hello and tell them how much I enjoyed their profile... But if they are going to act like a tramp... Not worth My time. Right?

though seeing a smiling face.. is for sure better than seeing one scowl or frowning... seen a few of them too... think the best one though... was one that looked like he was about 5 sheets in the wind... LOL

Putting up a pic.. any pic.. is a good thing. For one .. people are more likely to view your profile. Sometimes I get bored and just thumb through peoples pictures for fun.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Even if its just of their shoe. For one, if they took the time to put up that picture, then it must mean something to them. If its a lousy picture, then it might mean they're too lazy to have a good picture taken (or like me extremely camera shy), or they might have some seriously bad taste.

Pictures of people's torso or whatnot.. at least you know somewhat of what you're getting into when you message them. Its better than nothing. I mean.. at least you know they're smart enough to be able to add a picture in the first place.

I used to have (on old profiles) pictures of the pillows I have on my bed. They're two Valentine hearts, one says HUG ME the other says LOVE. They're a little cheesy/frilly, but sweet and girly. Just one aspect of my personality.

I find pictures give me a huge insight into what that person likes, sometimes socio-economic background, preferred method of dress, and if they have several pictures.. different hairstyles/looks.

Pictures to me.. and it doesn't matter what pictures.. help bridge the gap between an online text only encounter and what would be a real life meeting. Its steps in the right direction, even if there is a lot of room for improvement.

It is interresting to see what others think of them selves when posting pics. Or how they want others to think of them.. or see them. Good response...

Status: offline 		Some get incredibly paranoid about the internet, and would rather not display their faces per fear of being "found out" by their family or peers. I suppose this is an understandable worry.

To put it in perspective, however, I have been shot at every angle with and without clothes on in artistic or "cam erotica" photography for years. Not once while walking on the streets of Boston (or Manchester) has a stranger slid up to me and whispered in my ear, "I know what your penis looks like."

Status: offline 		Well, I know my 'porfile' (couldn't resist...) doesn't have a picture at this time, mostly because the digital camera went with the wife and I've had other financial concerns at this time...besides, I was taking the majority of the pics of the family and mine was rarely taken (oh, poor me LOL)...but if anyone is curious I look pretty close to the picture used on the message board except I'm not quite as green and my wings are shorter...
