USC2257 is quite clear. We need some documentation on that horse. We need full copies of all his release forms and a photocopy of his picture ID which must have been issued by a governmental body, such as a driver's license. We also need to know where else the horse has appeared on the net to the best of our ability, and to have an office maintained for at least twenty hours a week for the feds to drop by to inspect these documents.

That's what the "law" says, read it.

While I haven't seen anything like the OP has seen here on CM I have in fact turned in a so-called dominant's profile photo to administration because the man's primary profile photo is one of him holding an INFANT in his arms. I find the photo distasteful and without a place in any BDSM website.

Unfortunately, I checked to see if CM's administration had done anything about that profile yesterday (thinking the update CM performed might handle it) but found the profile still displaying the photo.

You don't describe the context of the photograph. Perhaps it is indeed distasteful. You seem to be suggesting that the mere presence of an infant, even in an ordinary family picture type setting, is distasteful. That seems a very curious attitude. Some people with listings on CM are parents. It may be important to them that their profile reflect the importance of their children in their lives. I can't think why anyone would find that objectionable.

Forgive me but I'm perplexed by this comment. Why in the world would anyone want to publicly display their um(s) on an 'ADULT' website? BDSM, kink or whatever category people want to place collarme in does not matter, what does matter is that this is an ADULT website and last I knew, depicting ums on adult websites is illegal, no matter the context. This all seems like commonsense to me.

And to address a later comment about discussing um's on this site:

As a parent, I find there is a difference between mentioning something in passing, like "I took my son to the dentist today" and including um's in a discussion of a mature or sexual nature.

But it goes without question (in my opinion) that photographs of minors should not be displayed on this website or any site like it.

Don't you think there's real benefit to showing that people who beat on other people are also loving parents, and members of loving families?  How is this any different from the notion of showing kids on gay-centered web sites?  Or should the fact that kinky people love their children be just as off-limits as saying that Jimmy has two mommies?  Besides, a single man looking for a partner might want to post a photo showing that he is a loving parent.  Men and women do that on Match all the time, and it's not as though people registered on Match aren't looking for sexual partners.

Beyond that, there are site members in all kinds of economic situations.  Many people are living mutliple families to an apartment (or a house), or a whole family in a studio apartment, etc.  Your logic would indicate that, for example, no one in such a situation could log into the video chatroom, because kids would undoubtedly appear in the background of their camera from time to time, just because of living in close quarters.  That seems discriminatory to me.

However, all that said, administration has made clear in recent posts that the guiding factor here is practical, not philosophical: it depends on the political climate of the US, and on what is considered "obscene" by law enforcement today.  So while some people might want to post any photo because of freedom of speech, and others might want to have no kids ever to protect the children, the reality is that the site will probably vary what it does over time, to keep law enforcement out of its hair.

Actually, no, I don't see a benefit in 'placing photography' on the site in order to communicate that fact. However, I don't see a problem stating you are a parent but that is my opinion.

Collarme is riddled with adult advertisement featuring c*cks, vaginas, sexual torture devices, porn flicks, consensual violence and everything and anything in between, if you really believe plastering your um's smiling pic alongside that is appropriate then have at it, but again not something I would do and the people that would do that, wouldbe the kind I would avoid, cause if they'd do that to their ums, I could only imagine what they'd do to mine.

I confess I get a giggle from the unit pics. There is a local POC who has his erect part photgraphed next to a half-gallon milk carton, for scale one presumes.

He might have been saying..Milk does your body good..see look or maybe come get some of this vitamin D! Who knows for sure.

The only guess is that the CM servers have moved offshore.

I have to agree with theobserver on this one.  In My opinion, there is no reason to post a pic of a person who is not of age on this, or any other adult site.

Red, you are completely forgetting that, any pic posted of any person should be done with their consent.  Is the underage person consenting to their picture being posted?  No.  Because if it were anything else, we'd be up in arms about the fact that people not of age do not have the maturity to consent.

As for the cam thing, I have no pity there.  If camming is so important to someone, do it during the late night, school hours, or during nap time.  Either that, or move the computer to the bedroom and shut the door.  Should that not be something that works because of watching said little person, the cam isn't the priority in the first place.

I'm sorry if it seems discriminatory to you, but the fact is that if people have a choice between putting their kinks or wants before the little person, they may need to reassess what is really important.
