One month away from both members of this couple being reunited... Yay!

For me this is a hard time of year, the nightmares have already started in force.  However, I have pleasant plans... spend some time with friends here in Dallas, then for the last half of the month visit my parents in NY.

I'm going to be 32 in a few days, and we're planning a meeting with a boy that will hopefully become a part of our family. We still have too many dogs, and the other day I was reminded of why I prefer cats (wrestling matches between cats don't do as much damage to the house as wrestling matches between boxers).

Beyond that, Holly, rob and I are all sick - Holly is convinced that I have H1N1; I'm convinced it's just a sinus infection *shrugs* Thanksgiving was relatively painless, except that my brother and one of my cousins got into a theological debate over my head while I had a headache ... that wasn't much fun. At least I got to see the female replicant and give her Christmas presents to her.

Life continues well with me; my biggest lack is not having enough time.  I'm busy preparing for my special friend's two-week Christmas visit and trying to juggle some packing for the move back to the UK, which will really get underway once the holidays are over.  Good times ahead!

I pretty much dislike winter. Icy roads, frigid cold, wind, too much darkness..........just yuck!!!

But I am trying to look at it from a whole different perspective this year. If I am going to be stuck indoors, I am going to use that time more constructively. I am trying to do more of my weekend chores on weeknights leaving more of my weekend free for fun stuff like PAINTING!!! I've got two paintings going at the moment and am totally thrilled with the way they are coming along.

Not one photo print I've put up in the shop has sold but I didn't expect much. We do not get much walk in business so it is a very small audience anyway. At least I've got something I find appealing to look at now........instead of Iowa Hawkeye football crap

So far, doing an excellent job of maintaining a good exercise and eating plan with holiday stuff going on. I feel so much better about my health and appearance than I did a year ago. Did a quick 2 mile walk the morning of Thanksgiving. The biggest challenge will be to keep it up with the temperatures really crash. I did it last year and just need to discipline myself to do it. I have a love hate relationship with my elliptical. It is BORING!!!!

My son has decided to stop pouting and is now speaking to me again (men!). Apparently we will all be together for Xmas and for that I am thrilled. My daughter's pregnancy is going well and aside from finances still being tight, life is really very good in my world.

December! Tax season is nearly here, and the company's new stick to beat us with is "own it" or some such. Just another way of saying "It's all YOUR fault, but this time we might not renew your contract." I remain unimpressed. My office walls are painting a charming shade of babyshit. Huzzah.

Otherwise, I am thrilled that my BCBS is only going up to $669/month!! {happy dance} Otherwise, I am pretty much ready for my nap. I don't have SAD, winter is my best time, in spite of my working in a windowless office, but the last six weeks or so have been a festival of inertia. At least I got some charity scarves knitted!

Dad is much better from the pneumonia thing, now our goal is to keep him ailment-free. He does have a hemorrhage on his retina, though... because IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING! Mom is still is misery from the beach fall she took a few weeks ago. A rogue wave picked her up and slammed her to the beach. It's a world of DANGER!

Fall semester is almost over YAY! I have to say I will be glad for some down time as I have some remodeling I want to do around my place. (Yes that is what I do in my down time lol).

My bday is not far off and I have to decide where and what I want to do for that. I am thinking of a dinner theater type thing for my sub and I. So if we end up doing that, it will be a lot of fun.

Sherlock Holmes, I cannot wait to see that. BUT I want to see Avatar even more, the trailer looks outstanding!

Work and school full blast until the 23rd, then relax until the 3rd. I don't celebrate x-mas so I just get to rest. I have a few parties planned during that time though.

I may be close to being able to have all the slots filled in my life. I'm on all the right meds, and once I finish with the bleediness, I'll continue the assault on the mess in the basement. All the Solstice presents are bought and wrapped, and we're getting ready for my husband and co-dominant's birthday on Saturday. Half my birthday presents are bought, the other half are going to require purchase on the next paycheck. The tree is up, and life is just generally perking along happily.
