KNelson -> What, if any difference - your view? (12/2/2009 2:14:55 AM)

Ladies, Gentlemen,

I'm interested in your views on what, if any, difference you perceive between male and female dominants?

Oh, fer crying out loud...

http://www.collarchat.com/m_2926819/tm.htm

The debate is the difference between male dominance and femal dominance, and whether or not female dominance is 'real'. Sub topics include western sexuality, differences between prodommes and non-prof's, and the sex industry.

Give it a read, and jump in with your own two cents.

This question has been asked many times before and you can use the search feature to view those replies. Other than the obvious, one is female, one is male, each person is an individual so it will be unique to each person.

One is a "BITCH!" and the other a "YOUSONOFABITCH!"

Female dominants are far more friendly, sympathetic and easy-going, especially with newbies.  They very rarely say anything bad about malesubs.

Female dominants don't think with their dicks as much as male dominants. This might have something to do with the fact that, in the overwhelming majority of cases, our dicks aren't hard wired but rather strapped-on.

I believe it's just a fact of nature that men and women are different in their basic nature.

This is the truest thing i have EVER read here.

Allrighty then. Newbie, obviously -- I should have done a stock search. Very true, my apologies and I'll get right on that.

However, the question is more about differences in style generally than asking something, IMO, ridiculous like whether female dominance is real or having a set to on the role of physical superior force. On physical superior force any thug can coerce an individual -- that's not what I'm asking about. I do believe that there are differences in the mentality of men and women and I am looking to start to explore so the question is not idle, either.

Ok, so I looked at your profile. You self identify as a lesbian dominant. I would hope, but not assume, that being in the queer realm that you have shed some of the gender stereotypes that Judith Butler, Kate Bornstein et al. have written about so militantly and extensively.

The reality here is that, even in this handful of Dommes that post on this forum, there is a lot of variety in styles. Just look at the responses in very recent threads such as Is female dominance real or in I seem like a passive Domme . Again, look at the differences in perspective in The Thrill of the Hunt. You'll see that even amongst the women here, there is quite a bit of variety based on our own experiences.

And welcome to the boards. I look forward to exchanging further with you.

I think women in general can be tougher, perhaps even more ruthless!
From what I have personally witnessed with new Dominant men is they are much more cautious when they first start dominating than perhaps a woman would be.
When I was a pro Domme I had a few new Dominant women come to work with me in my dungeon. I found I had to very much curb their sadistic capabilities as they had a tendency to push the client further than he was prepared to go.

I'll second that! After a woman goes through childbirth and in general seem to carry the weight of her people on her shoulders(in an emotional sense), she seems to be less sympathetic towards the weaknesses in men and others around her. I've worked under/with both males and females in business and education, and while my experiences of working under a female were generally good, I would not have willingly been placed in any position that opposed them. In fact- I at times, have felt very sorry for those who were eaten up and spit out by them in business matters.

Ruthless indeed. lol.

I seriously have high doubts about the accuracy of this statement. I have no idea if this is based on your personal observations, but I have found quite the opposite in my own personal observation. That said, in either account, personal observation doesn't make a proven theory or fact.

Again, depends. Believe it or not, in my organization, there are two men and two women in senior management positions. Of the four, I am the one that people find the easiest to approach because of my nurturing side. I also set clear expectations and boundaries, and to date, have rarely "eaten up and spit any out". To me, that would be loss of composure and an automatic admittance of defeat.
