The gallon water jugs (milk jugs) weigh about 8 pounds when filled up. That is an easy exercise for me when we are unloading the van. I even use my niece (22lbs) and do some arm curls kissing her each time (open mouth from her...LOL!)

Are you strong enough to just hang from the bar? Most people have to progress to pullups.

Oh yeah I can "hang"
Just can't PULL!  I took a Boat Rescue course over the summer & we had to all jump in the water & pull ourselves up into the raft. I couldn't do it but I could pull someone else up when they were in the water & I was in the boat but I used alot more lower body strength of course.

LOL.  OK.  There are a few articles I have read on different bodybuilding and fitness sites on progressing to doing a pullup.  When I find them I will post the links for you.

Found a couple articles on progressing to doing chinups.  The first link is a bit more in-depth and gives you a few more options you can use.  The second one has the obligatory hot chick working out in a video.  LOL

No problem.  BTW, what exactly are tricep pushups?  Are they the same thing as sissy pushups?  (Don't flame me, that's what our gym teacher called them.)

Lol, you mean GIRLIE pushups or on this site they should be known as "subly pushups" since you're on your knees
No, the tricep pushups I mentioned were the one's where you kept your arms close to your side & not spread out.

The huge salad thing with a lean cuisine does help it Pots, and I always eat a huge salad with dinner, and sometimes just a huge salad for lunch too.  I also always carry around with me those little 4 packs of starkist white tuna in water with a pop top so if I am starving mid-day I eat one of those and it does help. I have been good for the past 5 days so tonight I was craving sushi and I got it, sushi in itself isn't bad, as long as you are a purist and don't those awful rolls with the white rice and just stick to sashimi. I was jonesing for some fried tofu tho, and I did get one order, screw it.

I do love salad! I get the pre made salads in the bags...usually "Very Veggie" or the "Oriental Mix". I love putting egg whites (cooked) in the salad too, breaks up the drab flavor

So far today I've had "Special K w/berries both dry & fresh" for breakfast. I brought a can fruit cocktail/a granola bar for lunch but as I mentioned in another thread I had to stop at the courthouse beforehand & during the "Security Check" they confiscated my fruit cocktail and since I didn't want to take it outside & get back in line they threw it away.

Last night I had a Lean Cuisine 4-cheese pizza & a very veggie salad mix, some fat free saltines and for desert a fat free yogurt boston creme pie flavor.
(On Thurs. night I hope to have the REAL "cream pie" to munch on)

FYI, for those who have a hard time with regular pushups, try standing or kneeling and don't lower yourself to the floor but instead use a bar or chair or anything to start moving yourself using you chest muscles.

For example, my PT use to have me stand before a bar that was waist high to me, i angle my body so i was at about a 45 degree angle and then keeping regular pushup form which means keeping your body straight and not with your butt angling up, you pushups against the bar.   As it gets easier lower yourself more and more until you are doing regular pushups either from your knees and them move to the regular ones.

Planks are also really good for getting yourself ready for pushups as they help build your core.   I have seen them done a couple ways, but my PT and my coaches for BBall all through HS and college preferr where you are on your elbows versus on your hands.  Many times the only thing that sustained me was hearing the psycho --- eee eee eee noise in my head as i thought about killing my coaches lol for the minutes we were required to hold them.    The way i see it, YA do what you got to do to get through the torturing lol.

Yeah, BA, planks are kind of an all purpose exercise.  That's why they are so awesome.

Yeah I know

Actually someone mentioned on another thread "8 minute abs" so I've been doing that every night in addition to "8 minute buns" & "8 minute arms" then there's another video "Yoga butt blaster's" that I do too.
I know the workout's sound short but they're really good. I already feel/see a difference in the abs/buns! I just started the arms workout last night & will let you know about those results.

Short, intense workouts are the best.  I have NEVER spent more than an hour working out and these days I usually get them done in 20-30 minutes.  45 minutes is a LONG workout for me.

They are intense! Well, the abs are anyway. The buns could be more advanced.

That is an awesome idea VP. I LOVE egg whites in my salads, it is so much better that way, and you get the protein. I usually buy those bags too, sr sometimes baby spinach in the box, and I love it with the egg whites, and of you like pomegranate seeds load them on, they are sweet juicy goodness! I also can't beleive you like the same yogurt as me. That is my favorite. I pretty much love all of the yoplait light ones though, they really do cut the craving for bad things.

I have a wicked unbelieavably delicous thing for a dessert item that one of the chefs I worked with where I bartended used to make us girls at night all the time. It's so simple, just takes pineapple rings, either fresh or canned, and lightly lightly sprinkle some brown sugar or any kind of sweetener you like if you wish, I like it plain too, then grill them either on a grill pan in the stove top, or open grill, or even in a skillet will work, then plate them and serve them with some fat free vanilla yogurt , regualr or frozen, and sprinkle on some nuts, or cinnamon, whatever you like. I used to drizzle some frangelico or other liquor over it if you have any. It is so delicous you can even serve it for like a company dessert. Plus, the added pineapple for your man bonus. .

Edited to add POTTY lol! I just now got your cream pie reference.! .

Hi CallaFirestormBW, i presume you are speaking of Shay from the show and the awesome subway challenge they offered here -- damn $1000 for every POUND she loses, how awesomely great is that for her.  Are they setting up a blog or website for her?  The new season airs January 5 they said.

FYI General - I found out the time  of how long as my former post -- it was 7 months from start to finish.  That is crazy -- good thing they are all doctor observed.
